I thought DC rolled him but braced his own fall with his arm, then placed the MFC player down afterwards. Duty of care was to lessen the impact but still stick the tackle.
Also only one arm pinned and the player himself had a vice like grip on the footy and wasnt gonna let it go. Had no intentions of letting the ball go so he could brace himself either.

I’d drop Marchy before Cincotta.

Marchy better this week - but I get very nervous when he has ball in hand.
Gov in for Marchy, Walsh for Ed and Boyd for Fish... then it gets tricky.
Like to keep developing Dow(for his urgency in traffic), maybe give Doc a rest.
But who gets the sub vest?

Why did Ben King miss for Gold Coast this week and is he likely to be back next week?

I think it depends a bit on the ruckman we are opposing.

We have done a fantastic job against the bigger ruckmen in recent weeks playing both Pitto and TDK. Pittonet does some heavy body work early and really hits hard in the linches, then TDK takes over with athleticism in the third quarter.

Worked particularly well against Marshall two weeks ago, and I thought it was also pretty effective vs Gawn (not sure what happened to Grundy - he looked like balancing this out in Q1 and then I don't think I saw him for the rest of the game).

GC have Witts and I think this tactic works well against him too. He looked stuffed earlier in the year but has been in better form recently and worth planning for.
If Witts plays well Suns play well
underrated ruck..
this will be another tough game..we need some returning injuries to relief the current 22..
Suns try also to put speed on the ball
yhey have a really good midfield Miller,Rowell,Anderson......underrated
they have some great forwards as well

potentially they have a better midfield and ruck than us at the moment ....they have some elite forwards as well
need to overcome this bunch at home, there will be more blues supporters than suns at heritage stadium !
it might be a tough game,4 points will do

Hope Gov is ready!

Not sure on Boyd for Fish - but if you insist, Fish could play sub.

Dow’s been good, but he only carry’s one club in his bag - the big dog - centre clearances.

Can we afford to carry’s Paddy on the bench rotating CB’s?

Fish has been good, but he's not a defender or a dangerous forward, maybe sub is his go.(it's hard to tell how tight and negating defenders are viewing on the telly as the camera follows the ball)
I'd like to get as many AFL games into Dow while the opportunity is there, could reward us in September.

Marchbank had 4 marks for the game yesterday - so did Cincotta.

He had 2 tackles for the game - Cincotta had 4.

Cincotta powers into contests, runs forward to provide carry through the centre. Marchbank right now looks a little lost.

He’s a natural interceptor, but we have others playing that role already.

He’s not great defensively - I’d be worried about him on any of King, Casboult or Lukosius.
PS King didn’t play last week - it sure if he’s expected back ?

possibly maybe against suns, his stats are well down on our key mids however
i dont think risk him in finals...if his role serves as resting/recovering a few of our players for finals then that works plus he can gain true recognition if he possibly can step up his game even further....i think theres a goodplayer there but his slow at realising his potential and realising what his impact has in such a vital role....
i havnt closely studied him lately....ts probably a very good question

Could do - he’s getting better with each game isn’t he. Better by foot against Dees.

Like the idea of keeping Paddy the next couple of weeks.

It’s Cez who will tip him out & it looks like that a couple of weeks away at best.

In: Boyd, Walsh
Out: Docherty (rest), Cotters (sub)

If he’s fit, get some kms into Walsh playing a wing role.

Don’t bring in Cerra or Gov, don’t like the risk given the recurring nature of their injuries. Play Cerra against GWS if he’s ready then. Gov can wait for the finals.

We are lucky in a sense that GC no longer have anything to play for after losing to Sydney. Will be interesting how they get up for this game.
plenty of times we've been in the role of chief interference and I recall we did our best to spoil parties - it helped us feel just a tiny bit relevant..........

I think it would be a big mistake to bring Harry back this year. I don't think it's a coincidence our form has turned around since he has been out. We've got a smaller forward line that provides intense pressure now and doesn't let teams run out of defence. We've stopped bombing it long. McKay's poor goal kicking was really deflating to the side. Happy to bring him back next year but please don't mess with our structures and system by bringing him in especially if he is missing match touch and fitness.

Fish played well but if boyd comes in he replaces him for mine -- one thing a small defender needs to do is be able to absorb physical pressure and body the man and ball .. have more trust in boyd .. later I thing doc replaces cincotta if all healthy
