I don’t know , I just think we’d take any A grade players and give them roles to make our side much better

Redman could play wing , half forward , half back , midfield

190cm that run like the wind and kick it 55m on the run are pretty valuable

Swap smith for retirement too soon for Redman and we gain plenty
No Rik Mayall.gif

Nah hinge has found his role and it’s more valuable than a wing role anyway
The defensive Wing role still has them falling back into DEF to help out ....the Jones role ....I like Hinges flexibility, so why cement him to one role ?

Still find it amazing that Adelaide aren't being touted as a serious trade partner for the Gold Coast 1st rounder by Cal Twomey and co. Barely an afterthought it seems.

The Suns would get exponentially better value having a further 2 x 1sts next year after cashing in on 3 x 1st round Academy bids this year right?

As far as I'm aware the Crows are the only team with an active interest in moving out of the 2024 1st round (which by what i've read, looks like the stronger, and deeper draft) and have 2 x very early 2's in this draft with perfect points for a team with 3 players who will attract bids.

Not saying that's the exact trade terms, but logically would make us the far and away front runner in terms of appealing packages.

It's not a thought to him because we haven't leaked our intentions one way or the other to him.

Realistically these are some trade/list changes the club must decide over the following years.

  • draft/trade in young developing ruck 2023 (Barnett from WCE?)
  • Key defender depth, or starter (Cox) 2023
  • Life after Tex? 2024
  • Elite Mid? (2023,2024)

Because it’s the role he can have most impact and it’s working a treat for him and the team

Just need others to step up further up the ground around the wings etc

Our defence has developed very well this year and been excellent considering it’s a bunch of no names

Sorry , don’t rate Barnett , not playing well in wafl and not sure he makes it

I’ve heard him mention crows are in the mix

I don't share your optimism ....too many KPD's out-marked ....too many balls going behind the packs going for marks

Murray is a big loss ....too many oppo small fwds going to town on us

The Doods interview seems to imply he's in a similar boat to Crouch last year. Would absolutely love to stay but disappointed with what we've offered and will go if a worthy enough alternative is given.
Well , very smart by us

We have Worrell , Hinge , Michaelanny all at least as good as him

We need a replacement smith type more than a replacement Doedee type

Our club has been conservative in never having traded a F1.

I agree with Welsh and potentially Michelanney #2 next year points will likely be the main objective.

However it could be disastrous if we finish outside the top 8 next year and Welsh doesn’t go top 10. I realise Welsh is in too 5 proejections but a lot can change at this age.

Will need to be a risked decision made.

Personally I would definitely do it for GCsS 1st this year, but not necessarily clear cut as you might think.

Where was the interview with Doedee ?

In terms of performance I have forwards as our best line but they have too big a gap between best and worst and need to fix goal kicking accuracy

Defence as clear next best line , a bit unheralded but nice balance between offensive and defensive types . Pretty consistent all year and have also had the most injuries in game and between games and have covered superbly

Then midfield as clear worst performing line , in games we’ve conceded more than 5 goals consecutive they’ve leaked for periods and exposed defence

If you don’t like our defence you must hate our midfield

Not an admirer of the midfield .....I'll feel happier when Pedlar, Rankine & Rachele are in there

Ftfy..

I rate worrell, MM and hinge a lot higher than doedee..

All three have far better skills and way more potential..

I know what you are saying but technically thats not correct - we did trade our F1 with carlton in THAT pick swap along with our pick 19 they used for Stocker..but we have not traded our F1 OUT of a draft and brought it forward

What would it take to get Gold Coast first round pick?

Package up all our second round picks and next years first and hit this draft hard with some early picks for some top line midfielders.

Unfortunately top 10 is going to compromised, again, with North’s FA compensation and Academy picks…

Bailey Smith would be a great get if he’s on the market but can’t see him moving to Adelaide…

Grundy would be an upgrade on ROB but not sure worth the hassle given he is two years older.

Sign up Crouch and McAdam. They were our best players the last month while season was on the line.

Doedee is a good player but a bit more one dimensional than those above who have more strings to their bow

Hinge is ballistic with his run and carry and also good intercept

Max is a potential AA , can lock down but also intercept and beautiful ball user , good speed too

Worrell can play key back role or smaller , more penetrating by foot

Could also be part of his PR strategy.

IF Doedee leaves and we end up with say band 3 - we could offer up 3 x 2nd round picks to them which would e way more points than their 1st. But using the F1 if we think Welsh will eat that up is not a bad idea and we could use that and the north 2nd or the Doedee compo (if he leaves) for the GC 1st

He's really not a good enough player to hold a club to ransom.

Being chronically injury prone only makes things worse.

If he can get a better deal elsewhere, then he should take it. I doubt too many of us would begrudge him or even care really.
