If that was the case, he can then sit at Melbourne and do f**k all and earn easy dollars.

Why move?
Pretty sure there's still match payments he misses out on if he isn't picked in the best 22.
And doesn't get incensitives for best and fairest, finals etc.
Not withstanding potential loss of sponsorship for not being a best 22 player.

Why not geelong? Right age profile and he will get a $1 pub off the books..it is the obvious choice

That really doesn't make much sense with Sam Draper there and Nick Bryan just signing a new 2 year deal very recently....cheap VFL back up to replace Andrew Phillips who's just retired. Could't see Goldy playing much AFL?
That was toomeys report though

why I don’t know but just saying if your in the market for goldy then surely your also assessing grundys situation

He split from his partner this year
Probz a wet rag to date when his ego can’t handle playing in the twos.

What did he think would happen going to Melbourne. Guys so full of hubris did he really think he would just walk in and take on gawn for #1 ruck?? Lol!

Guys a flog and cares more about the lifestyle and his hair than footy

Collingwoods contract probably the worst ever sports contract in Australian history.

I don't think Grundy cares too much about his teams prospects.
I think Grundy cares about team Grundy.

Grundy is actually a really thoughtful guy. Had some interactions with him around my sons sport - nothing to do with AFL or Collingwood - and he went well over what I thought he should or would do. Actually apologised for not coming to the final game of their carnival (it fell on the Queens Birthday game). Genuine good bloke

I actually get the feeling that he doesn’t want to move back to Adelaide, that was the message he gave the AFC when we had a crack

It’s probably the reason why I posted a few weeks ago that I thought he would end up in syd

Doesn’t surprise me

Feel a bit sorry for the bloke , especially if pies win flag

I shouldn’t , as he’s loaded and athletic and talented

I still think he’s better than Darcy Cameron, who is living off one good season and struggled to back it up this year. Surprised you would turf a guy who has proven to be elite for a guy that has his first good season.

I agree ....but look at the differentials in Contract size, and who COLL were able to recruit with the spare cash

That’s on Collingwood though, not Grundy. Collingwood are doing well as they’re a big club and can get away with a bad decision or three, not because their list management has been good in recent seasons.

McStay?? Who's been trash, Tom Mitchell has been handy but they would have got him regardless of the Grundy contract
I agree re McStay ....COLL didn't have a lot of fwd options though

Grundy is a million miles better and he’s still good.
Just not as good as Gawn.
