Zero chance an elite athlete who has just played a brutal game of football and needs the best recovery for the biggest game of his life, wasted two days in airports and on planes flying up to Brisbane and back. Just to fly up again in a few more days time.

Someone saw a look alike/ made a mistake/ yanking your chain.

It's okay to make mistakes. No one minds or will hold it against you.

On a somewhat related note - Cripps does have a slightly shorter (about 6'2 or 6'3) doppelganger who is a physio at the Ipswich Hospital
Can confirm..

I can state it is an absolute fact that before the Rd 11 match up in Sydney, on the way to the team hotel, Curnow (Ed) yelled "PUNCH BUGGY, NO RETURNS" and landed a massive punch on Fogarty's bicep delaying his start to the season by a further couple of matches. Believe it or not. Up to you. Don't shoot the messenger.

The media team has been working on this one for 8 weeks.
Can’t wait to see what they’ve put together.

Can't wait to watch an empty desk for 25+ mins for someone with their head chopped off to walk up and sign a piece of blank paper.

Not Carlton related and was reported on at the time, especially by Caro. Now I really don't know anyone in deep AFL circles but was chatting to my CIO yesterday afternoon who is very tight with Richmond board members.

Richmond senior hierarchy were and still are absolutely filthy with Hardwick joining Gold Coast to the point he is not welcome at the club at present (I'm' sure it will change in the future, I mean he won three flags). They all understood and accepted he needed time away and was burnt out and when reports by Caro, Kane Cornes and co started coming out about a potential move to Gold Coast none of the Richmond power brokers believed it, all thought it was media fluff.

One board member called Hardwick when he was in Italy just to confirm and Hardwick assured him he had no intention of coaching Gold Coast, a few days later BAM he is announced and Richmond felt most disrespected and frankly flat out lied to and at present will not speak with him let alone allow him anywhere near Punt Rd.

I don't really have an issue with Hardwick in this situation (I generally don't like him and think he's a w@nker). Fwiw he didn't specifically say he was burnt out. He said he couldn't cook the sausage the 1001st way, meaning he didn't feel like his message could get across to the group in a meaningful way anymore.

You cant be burnt out from one job/company too. He may well have been tired of that playing group, or going to the same building every day, footy in Melbourne etc. but that doesn't mean you're done across the board and can't do it anymore. Players who move often say they love getting out of the pressurised bubble that is Melbourne, so it stands to reason a coach could feel the same.

Also, fwiw, he's had a 3 month holiday overseas (more or less). It isn't unreasonable to suggest you'd feel pretty refreshed after that. Living on the GC too is hardly taxing, particularly as he hasn't actually started the hard nitty gritty yet. Well, it's not taxing so long as you live south of Nerang/Mudgeeraba and don't have to use the m1 these days... there's a reason all the footy fellas live south!

I would understand they'd be cranky about him poaching a few people though, that I get. I don't have an issue with the "burnt out" saga.
