I have been hunting without success for the schedule for GF Day. I know I saw it recently! Just the times of when the gates open, what time the entertainment starts etc. Thought it would be on the AFL site, but can't see it!

I am tipping Hugh for the norm. I feel like he is going to have an extraordinary game. Kiddy will get some extra attention so Mckenna will need to be on, for which I have no doubts about. From memory, Oscar struggled a little bit when Cox came into the ruck last time we played them. I think Oscar will be ready for him this time, Cox doesn't have much in his bag of tricks.

I reckon we'll see Cam 'Danster' Rayner win the Norm Smith.

In his junior career, he always went up another level in grand finals. This is his time baby!!
High impact moments! That tackle in the second quarter last week felt like it was a huge part of the momentum shift

I am in M30, so does that mean I am going to be in with the Collingwood toothless Ferals.
Based on what people have been posting pretty sure M29 and M30 will be mainly lions supporter bays, Collingwood will be largely represented in most of the remaining level 1 bays at that end of the ground I'm assuming, but nowhere near what it would be like in a home and away or other finals game.

Either way, it will be fun 🤩
Pretty sure I might have heard a few say M28 too.

I'm leaning towards Gardiner. I think his game on the weekend has been overhyped a bit. Got a fair bit of help from Andrews and the mids not exposing him one on one. Also, Paynes form has been average for a while.

Against a shorter forward line I'd go with Gardiner

Andrews to Cox/Cameron
Lester to Mihocek
Gardiner to Howe/Elliot
I agree. Gardiner also has a bit more ‘junkyard dog’ than Payne and I think that is important. Similarly, I think that Gardiner’s defensive decision making is a bit stronger. You are right when you say that Payne’s form has been average for a while, although this is surely a consequence of playing injured and that having an impact on his confidence.

Finally, this may be a moot point, because there is every likelihood that Payne won’t get up.

P.S. - I think we are going to win on Saturday and if that turns out to be the case, Darcy Gardiner deserves to be part of a Premiership Team based on his loyalty through tough times. Payne will get his chance in coming seasons.

Pretty sure Coleman will be closely watched after his BOG and media attention this week and Mckenna too.

big time game for Wilmot. I'd love it if the coaches backed him early to break the lines with his run and carry just like the Port game. It didn't pay off but hoping the Lions don't fall into the trap of long bombing if they can't get the ball into Coleman / Mckenna as often.

Congrats all you lucky bastards going to the game. Was there in 2003 & was awesome, particularly as we were underdogs like this week.
Disappointed to hear no photos/autographs at Friday training, was going to take young fella but will probably give it a miss now
No changes, Hippy to snag 7 & join Hart & Black (geez Aker was stiff)

The good thing is we have those 3 players all able to give drive in different ways off half back. Spreading the load.

Even starce and lester if they get it in the right spot will have a crack

Re Gardiner, do we worry about him second up? He looked pretty gassed by the end

Payne if it’s accurate that he injured his other ankle sounds like not much of a chance to play anyway

Hoping like hell linc is totally fit. He was phenomenal on the weekend and our best set shot. Does not seem to get nervous

So far it’s the pies scrambling at selection table but that changes if linc out

I think the heat is going to play a hand in the game,it is going to 28c and hotter in the centre of the G,that will suit the Lions.
I remember when Robert Walls was coaching them against Hawthorn,it was a hot day, hawthorn were up by 38 points at 3/4 time,Wallis pointed to them standing the shade, and looking a bit flat, well Brisbane ran over the top of them.
I am sure the Lions will cope with the heat better!!!

All this talk of the MCG hoodoo means NOTHING. If they’re good enough on the day, it won’t stop them.

And by them, I mean Collingwood.

FACT: In our last 5 games against Collingwood at the MCG, our average winning margin is 80 points.

BUT… Let’s not try to convince ourselves we’ll beat them thanks to some superstitious hoodoo that is clearly heavily in our favour - we just need to play our best footy. 😎

Yep, Linc would be a massive out for us, his defensive pressure has been immense this year and when he sneaks up the ground he is a very smart player in traffic and usually delivers the ball very well.
