Would be happy with this and it means Howard is still in play.

You would also think if we land Shiel and Dow that Clark is very much in play too

What is it with us wanting to pick up the broken down blokes?

Guy has played how many games in the last 3 years? 6 games.

And this isn't at you Stav.
But I'd seriously be questioning the club bringing in two blokes that have had decent injury concerns.
Draft picks or not. We need players that can actually stay on the park as well.

The bloke has the ego of an all time great.
Bruce was so horrifically bad for our culture and standards.

A guy in the media/club land with family members that played told me that Bruce was the biggest FW of all time and wouldn't even acknowledge or talk to the Sandy boys when he had to play twos.

Just an all time FW

Its an unpopular opinion, but I just get this feeling that with Gresham set to leave, Billings could be a decent contributor for us going forward as a half forward. Has the ability to deliver inside 50, which fills a need for us. Wasn't even that bad when he played this year vs Melbourne. Can also hit the scoreboard.
He’s been underwhelming for sure. But I can’t help but think Ross could make him into something useful for us. Class with the ball. But maybe his defensive deficiencies are too great. Pity.

Depth players mate.

It’s all about the picks

Bit sick of this complete and utter character assassination of Hunter Clark.

I watched some earlier games this week, v Freo Bulldogs and Essendon and he was excellent ion all those games, got injured, then could not recaptue his form, a bit like Jack Steele.

This constant rubbish about him not fit or chasing is just incorrect. As someone who actually goes to training and watched him be at the front of preseason and work his guts out at match sim, and I watch him at games, out of camera shot, it is a complete fabrication that he doesn't run, it is just that he is one paced, like the majority of our players who run through the mids.

We have not learned from Acres, get rid of players too early and they will bite us on the arse in another team. He is not a world beater but the bs constantly bandied on here about him is ludicrious.

Would you say this to Billings face I wonder? Because constant s**t like this is why players have a hard time coping with the life of having to put up with this bullshit. Dont you give a s**t when players like Stocker come out and talk about how the constant negativity and undue critisism wears at them?

Life must be so hard for Billings earning over 10k a week sitting his ass in the VFL coasting.

The agony of it all.

He'll be a good transition player as Hotton can develop in the 2's, much better than throwing a 2nd year player to the wolves

Give it a rest, they're not protected from mental health issues by earning good coin.

Probably the opposite, the pressure to perform and having your body break down would be a huge weight.

JB wanting to go and having no one seriously come for him could be the best thing that ever happened to him and his footy imo

The truth at last, the narrative on Clark is laughable but hey why let facts get in the way of a good hate session. Now billings can’t run apparently so that’s now two guys who were at the top for us in metres covered at one point who can barely jog 🤣🤣.

A lot of the criticism is definitely a bit overboard, but he clearly isn't a good enough runner at AFL level. Consistently below 70% TOG just highlights this, especially since he's relatively versatile and should be able to rest at half back when fatigued from midfield. In an era where athleticism is so crucial for success at AFL level, he needs to improve his body to get to the next level. Yes, he may have been good early in the season, but that's when most players are fit and at 100%. Getting through the entire season at the top level is a different conversation to just being good from rounds 1-6.

Definitely not giving up on him because he's a talented player and a solid trainer, but he clearly needs to work harder than most now after years of injury-interrupted football. Not his fault, just needs to cop it and use it to his advantage.

600k a year. we've had two chances of offloading the guys, each time we borked and it's cost us.

billings 500k a year to play VFL for 3 years... yuck!!!

should have sent him out under FA when we could...

now Clark... should have been traded last year again that's gonna cost us.
First we had ‘ownice’ and now ‘borked’? What’s the world coming to?

Plays far to passive for his skill set. With a lot more aggro he could of had a very good career. I would rather keep him but if this club doesn't care then they must think it's a lost cause.

As reported by Inside Trading, the Gold Coast key forward is expected to look for a new home after being the leading goalkicker in the VFL for a second consecutive year. Adelaide has shown an interest while St Kilda has also kept tabs on him.

Shut bigfooty down, nobody’s allowed to say anything that they wouldn’t say to a players face.
Yes actually. If you couldnt rationally explain to that player why you think that and not feel like a dickhead then perhaps dont say it?

I really think his leg break then hammy basically wrecked his year as far as AFL level. Lyon's gameplan is just so fitness based that not being at full fitness when you have people like Owens cementing that half forward role makes it hard. He was pretty good overall at VFL level but not close to that 40disposal level he showed years back.

If we somehow manage to get a 2nd round for him then I wont bemoan him moving on but people acting like he should be delisted are ignoring a lot of the circumstances of where he is and the level he could be playing at with a good pre-season.

Will be Shiel, Dow, Henry and Pick 13 in actuality (yes I know you’re just doing the bit).

I Dont Care Deal With It GIF

do you know Jack Billings personally or something?

when ever his name is mentioned you're very quick to jump to his defence!
Ive never met him. I do know younger ex afl players however and the idea they dont understand what is spoken about them online, particually on social media, is incrediby naive. Bigfooty is the number one football forum on the internet. Players read these forums.

I'd sit him at HFF instead of HBF when tired as still dual sided, still has work rate, can hold up in tackle, can initially pressure, is a bigger body to combat Butler being manchild v men so should alleviate some half forward entry issues and assist with retention. HBF would be a slight downgrade for me as requires more initial burst and requires multiple agility checks that I'm not sold Hunter would nail most times against those sorts of players.

So say Hunter rotating with Billings on a HFF for I50 entry looks better than a Ross or Gresh currently in quality.
