Well last time I checked we weren't at 21, so adding Warner should be ok.You can't play 22 midfielders.
We did a trade with Port Adelaide. We traded F2 for something like 50 and 52.So we had 7,8,49&58 what were we planning on using for matching Henry bid even if it fell as expected in the late teens? That’s pretty poor planning, no wonder we got bent over in the live trade we did.
There were murmurs pre draft that Carlton liked Henry, people were thinking it was probably too early but we showed our hand that we were definitely matching so Carlton used that to make time to trade
Yeah it made up part of the reason for sureThat was why we traded up ahead of them so they didn't bid and make us burn pick #10 matching it
We did a trade with Port Adelaide. We traded F2 for something like 50 and 52.
We then had something along lines of 49,50,52,58 to match bid and go around 200pt deficit the year after which was I think (after bids and taking off the mid first round compo pick GC received) dropping from 12 to 14 where we selected Chapman.
Freo should have bid on Green at either 7 or 8 and would have pushed Henry back one spot to 10 and given ourselves more time to negotiate trade of F2. I did the calculations at the time and it wouldn’t have made too much difference from memory. We benefited from that mid first round pick not causing our pick deficit to drop as much.
That same mid first round pick ended up with Geelong after GC traded it in one of the most stupid trades ever for pick 27 to select our recently acquired Jeremy Sharp.
The recruiters at GCS knew they were trading a pick valued around 12 for basically 27.
Thanks - I can’t remember how but that locked pick at 11 worked in our favour. I think the points deficit saw us only move to a certain pick rather that be pushed back further by 11. There were some bids in the top 10 but 11 was locked and we didn’t drop as far. Also from memory our pre draft position was helped by rounding of the points deficit. Anyway we had a small win of sorts and we ended up at 14 instead of say 15.That GC pick was a locked to pick #11 selection given to them as a priority pick
Initially I thought so but the combination of us passing on JVR and McDonald being dropped for the GF has swung things over the past year.
Now JVR is the Dees great white hope
Would be surprised if he re-signed with the swans. The swans have what around 12 or 13 OOC players and are targetting JUH…Sorry I got you confused with JammoMonty. My point still stands about your accuracy though!
LooooooooL BF flex. Nothing more intimidating.Mate I’m way better. Where’s the confusion?
Freo had a strong conversation with McDonald after he was dropped for the GF. I’d be surprised if he stayed with Sydney with the offer Freo are putting up.Initially I thought so but the combination of us passing on JVR and McDonald being dropped for the GF has swung things over the past year.

He wouldn’t have made a lick of difference to that shitshow.Freo had a strong conversation with McDonald after he was dropped for the GF. I’d be surprised if he stayed with Sydney with the offer Freo are putting up.
Is the younger Worner any good?
Does anyone think this news will be big enough to push Harley Reid of the back page of the West?
You’re right, but that wasn’t what the post was alluding to. I attended that GF. Cats were on roids that day. Don’t even think the premiership pies would have got them last year.He wouldn’t have made a lick of difference to that shitshow.
There's like zero chance they take that deal unless we finish bottom 3 next year AND hold their families hostage at the trade table. Both can be right, we have four first round picks to play with, that should be far and above the price for three players when one of them is out of contract and another is not established.
Had no choice but to overpay as OKC weren’t shopping PG at the time and Clips needed a co star to land Kawhi.Different sport I know but something to think about while we’re building and targeting other teams players. If you watch nba you know Paul George is a shell of himself now and Shai is an MVP candidate + all those picks.
Never sell the farm for one player

Where did we get the fourth from? Both can be right, we have four first round picks to play with, that should be far and above the price for three players when one of them is out of contract and another is not established.
Similar to the bounty the Cowboys got for Herschel Walker in the 80's, got us 3 superbowls.Different sport I know but something to think about while we’re building and targeting other teams players. My point was that if he is pissed that he was dropped because of the glory rather than thinking his inclusion would have benefited the team (it wouldn’t have) and enough so that he wants out as a result, that’s a red flag to me.You’re right, but that wasn’t what the post was alluding to.
