Jy's reaction to Cunners retirement says it all about how much Cunners has meant to the footy club.

Might have not been his best year but still wore his heat on his sleeve under difficult circumstances in my opinion.
Yeah, and I for one don’t have a problem with it. One thing our team has lacked is sustained effort, if a bit of passion brings it at this stage then all good.
The disciplined elder statesman approach is the next step, not this year.

It was more the draft concessions

Edit: trying to bring it back in here.
For the record, I’m a fan.

I love Jy, I just wish he wouldn't hack the ball, nothing wrong with going long when you can put it to the advantage of a leading forward but his return rate from inside 50s into assists is so bad I am surprised nobody at the club has tapped him on the shoulder and instructed him to dish it off to someone else then try to protect them.

If we do get players like Reid, Sanders, etc the midfield is going to be stacked. I'd hate for him to be left without a role, like Ziebell was when he was an ineffective midfielder, then we had to move him all over the park to see where he could inflict the least amount of damage on our team. I really want him to excel in a role.

he started the season really well but then the injuries/concussions ruined his momentum and he couldn't find his form again. Looked creative and good when rotating between midfield and half forward at times

it's frustrating that our two best players in Jy and LDU had interrupted seasons when they both looked really good early on. If they both stay fit next year we'll win a lot more games than we did this season.
