Are we the most elite kicking team in the AFL?

We've just added Roberts elite foot skills to our team to go alongside Gulden, Blakey, Rampe, McInerney, Heeney, Campbell & Florent (haven't had a lot of time to judge Jordon in this department but he rarely seems to make a mistake by foot too)

oh yeah!
there were periods where the accuracy of a lot of our kicks out of defence, particularly on the far side (on the tv coverage), pretty much broke collingwood ...
several times they went inside forward 50 only to see the ball come out that far side and the likes of gulden, blakey, heeney, florent and mcinerney (apologies if i've missed anyone ... campbell? roberts?) hit teammates 20, 30, 40 metres downfield with bullet passes, often into small, well defended spaces ... and often in chains ... from memory, a few went all the way and ended in goals
gulden and blakey have been doing it for a while but to have a team so stacked with precision kicks means we can move the ball very quickly and cut up an opposition ...
and combine that with the speed of our support play, where one sydney player after another is there to take the next handball, and the next, and the next ...
it doesn't always look silky smooth but it doesn't have to as long as there's always one more sydney player to get next hands on it
last night we were relentless with and without the ball, and exposed collingwood as slow and tired

A lot can be read into logans comments. Yea he did say ATM which can be taken he has the door ajar, he also had a wry smile when asked about it which could be read as the deal is done but they are waiting to announce it.

In the end it's who is being coached by his manager for his public comments and guy who hasn't got the experience yet when it comes to the media.

I expect him to sign for 3 until a fa then let the bidding begin

They could win every game for the season and I'd still expect them not to turn up Grand Final day. I'm damaged in that respect now.
You aren’t alone in that way of thinking, we’ve all been traumatised by this team & club that we love.😉😘 But we must rejoice in each win, no matter how close or if it’s a blow out, a win is a win!! And a win against the Filth is always a bloody great day!

An amazing team performance, with no less than 20 players worthy of a four or five star rating. Goes without saying that Warner and Heeney were at the top of their game.

That said, I feel the need to single out James Rowbottom tonight. And not just for tonight, but for a body of work over the past 3 seasons. For a guy who, let's face it - is not the greatest kick - he is irreplaceable. He sets the tone with his attack on the footy, the guy with the footy, or the guy trying to get his hands on the footy. He is the ultimate high-floor footballer, which again, is amazing when you consider he is not the best user of the footy (although I do believe he has improved this aspect of his game). His dedication in the pursuit of excellence in simply unyielding. He is the ultimate team player.

I realise that we still have Mills, Parker, Sheldrick and Adams to return. And no doubt someone is going to be disappointed when it comes to team selections in the back half of the year. But that someone should not be Rowy. He is now, for mine, an absolute non-negotiable, best-22 Swan.

By the middle of Q3 a shot of Moore showed him exhausted. 😆

I haven't watched him too closely but I don't like him either... there's an air of arrogance but he hides it well. Give him a few more years and we'll see the real McRae.

One thing I can't deny about him is he really understands the mental side of the game and the psychology of elite sport. So gotta give him respect for that aspect, just not a fan of his overall demeanour. I do respect him as a coach though.

That's absolutely my impression too.

James Rowbottom's controlled aggression is insane and needs to be studied by scientists and medical experts, because how can this absolute animal be one of our most quiet, calm, disciplined and fair players?

He could slay a dragon yet wouldn't hurt a fly.

That's absolutely my impression too.

Of course he played under Lethal for nearly all of his career played in a 3 peat its no surprise that confidence(arrogance) transitioned to his coaching.

Extremely competitive person i honestly dont mind him at all the demise on Collingwood on the Main Board is very premature.

Rowy, Errol, Logan

As each week passes, I get more anxious to see the “Young Swans Extend Contracts” media announcement.

Rowy feels the most unlikely to leave

Errol surely stays as a local but other teams will want him now he is basically top 5 in the comp, and the longer it takes you wonder what the hold up is?

should be highest paid

Logan well umm

a couple of observations on collingwood:

pendlebury ... great player that he's been, is done ... just too slow now, and that was exposed several times last night
sidebottom ... see above
lipinski ... thank goodness we didn't sign him (if it was ever a possibility) ... he'd barely be depth in this swans squad
degoey ... the best example of "premiership hangover" in that team ... looks like he's carrying a bit of extra pudding, no impact last night and seemed rattled by physical pressure
nick daicos ... obviously a super player, skills, etc, but does not relish having his space restricted, that concept of perceived pressure seemed to get to him ... had little impact on the game (despite the constant fawning in the commentary box)
josh daicos ... not the star the vic media tried to make him out to be two years ago ... take the name away and he's barely noticeable
mason cox ... he's mason cox, sucked in

(i acknowledge this is me being quite petty and trivial, but why the heck not)

just pondering the nick daicos v gulden debate ... gulden can still do his thing in limited space, as he did a few times last night ... for starters, gulden can still pull the trigger on that boot ...
take away the space and time daicos was afforded last season and you get last night's ineffectual performance

You are practically praising them in comparison to what the Pies fans on Twitter were saying about them!

Re Pendles, he's been great because he's made the game look slow. Now it's the game making him look slow. Still been a champion and one of the more likeable Pies players, so gotta remember to enjoy the trademark moments he still has, as long as they don't come against us!
