Port always win against us anyways regardless how bad they are doing.

I get your perspective. The whole, can lightening strike twice type of deal. He absolutely picked the eyes out of his draft / trade selections. But I think Clarko is pretty shrewd at the personality types he selects. He picks winners. Whether it's through the draft or by who he chooses as a trade target. I think he reads personalities really well and is willing to probe players to determine if they're worth pursuing. We will see.
Think was a perfect storm for Clarko at Hawks.
Right time, right place and right people

It seems really really obvious that the standard of competition is worse than ever and it gets disguised as "closeness." So "proven" might've been the wrong word, but it's also based on my observation of commentary surrounding most games, which is that neither team is much chop. How has it been proven?
Do you have some references to back that up or you just going on your "feels"?

He didn't just trade guns, he recruited established players who fit perfectly into his system. Dew, Burgoyne, Gibson, Gunston, Hale, Lake. They were all key contributors to Hawks flags.
He's certainly not a 1-trick pony imo.
Lol he’s played 4 games. You get excited by what their draft pick number was.
Does the training include tying people to trees and power stances?
I know noones watching, but I'll bet my balls north are saving their grand final for us. All these s**t teams do.
Dees had their hands out and got compensation picks. If that's the blueprint then the AFL should just dial in their preferred results and be done with it.AFL gonna point to the Dees at their lowest ebb and say, see clubs can be fixed.
Talking about the current state of Norf and West Coast.
For North, what do you do with their list?
Firstly, players to delist in 2024:
Harvey
Marley
Free
Archer
Sellers
Hansen
Trade bait/RFA:
W. Phillips
Zuurhar - angle for first minimum
Tucker
Look to recruit one or two of following:
Lyons - short term contract to provide senior protection
Perryman - RFA
Dougal Howard - shore up KPD
Florent - RFA/UFA? experience
OOC 2025/Pre-agents to go hard at:
Thilthorpe - FF foil for Larkey
Andrews - UFA in 2025
Weitering - UFA in 2025
Brayshaw - RFA
Taylor - RFA
Owens
Chad
Allen - RFA
Bont - UFA (no chance but may as well give a crack)
EIther way, heap of work for North to do and with heavy lifting four or so years away
Add norf in for the trifecta...Adelaide and Essendon belted on the same weekend. Name a better duo.

Edit: the Mitchell, omeara, scully trades didn't work. But I think that was a case of clarko overreaching with his list at the time and it didn't quite work out. But I'm sure he's taken lessons away from that period as well. But he'll be building the list from scratch at North, and he's got the runs on the board.
