I’ve heard of Phoenix Hargrave is highly rated. What bracket do you think he would fall?
2nd round with me currently.

Players I'd have ahead of him discounting F/S. Academy etc not necessarily in order but with an emphasis on midfielders or players I see as capable of eventually transitioning into the midfield.

Finn O'Sullivan - Balanced Midfielder

Christian Moraes - Balanced Mid

Josh Smillie - Big bodied Inside Mid/Utility

Sid Draper - Balanced mid

Jagga Smith - Balanced mid

Sam Lalor - Big Bodied Inside mid/Forward (a favourite of mine)

Xavier Lindsay - Balanced mid/defender (a favourite of mine)

Tobie Travagliaia - Dashing medium defender/midfielder (a favourite of mine)

Bo Allan - Big bodied Midfielder/defender

Tom Gross - Midfielder/forward

Murphy Reid - Balanced midfielder

Zak Johnson - Balanced midfielder (one of the youngest in this draft with a birthday Christmas Eve and a favourite of mine)

Harvey Langford - big bodied mid

Mutineer, could Sam Lalor be that powerful, explosive mid out of the centre but go forward and kick goals? I like him a lot. Between him and Draper, who would you go?

Anyone else deeply concerned that Ogilvie and this football department will be in charge of this year's draft with a likely top 5 pick.
With where we are at, unless its an A grade mid in a trade (and even then with a likely top 4/5 pick I would be just drafting the best mid we can), we draft a top end mid and maybe Draper looks like our man. If the name Petty is even breathed by any of them leading into trade period, it should be pitchforks down to the club

Is Draper better than Smillie? Would Smillie be there at pick 5?

I'd love both..Hence why it would be truly great if we could somehow bring our F1 into this year and use a player trade (ie contracted Keane to Collingwood) to supplement that to upgrade it into the top 10 - maybe with a side like GC who have multiple highly rated academy players again this year

You've solved your midfield problem for the next decade.

Close this thread down we aint drafting anyone

Tim Silvers on 5aa '' we need to bring talent in and we are still going down that track''

If we trade our first pick for anybody but a legitimate star I’ll be fuming.

Get rid of this clown too

I'd say thats too broad. It needs to be a legitimate midfield star. I am not interested trading out top end picks on A graders that are NOT mids and the club had better not be either.

Disappointing on several fronts here no Finn O'Sullivan (Busted finger but was expected to come up for the Nationals) and no Sam Lalor (ongoing foot issue I believe) and still exciting small forward/mid Benny Barrett and KPF Charlie West overlooked again.

Surprised that Zak Johnson didn't get a gig for Vic Metro unless he's injured but Geezus talk about a midfielder laden team, going to be quite a few that don't get to play their favoured role unless they rotate heavily...Mids Josh Smillie, Jagga Smith, Levi Ashcroft,Christian Moraes, Tom Gross, Murphy Reid, Damon Hollow,Lucca Grego
