South Adelaide Small forward/mid Benny Barrett sending SA U18's head honcho's Banger Bamford and Brenton Phillips a message last night, playing mostly midfield with 19 disposals 8 clearances and 13 tackles and a goal, exactly the kind of electric high pressure goal kicking small forward we need, just need to pounce before pick 40 and he goes to Port as an NGA.

About to watch the replay of Jack Michalanney's game last night to see if he's a chance

Edit : Cancel that replay not available yet.

Now that we currently have pick 4 I can start dreaming about a shiny new midfielder come draft day!
Im sure as it stands we would pick Draper but is he the mid we need?

Disappointing on several fronts here no Finn O'Sullivan (Busted finger but was expected to come up for the Nationals) and no Sam Lalor (ongoing foot issue I believe) and still exciting small forward/mid Benny Barrett and KPF Charlie West overlooked again.

No 26 for VIC Country can’t be a real name surely.

Mr & Mrs Ough what were you thinking could have called him Ripped, Peed, heck,

We'd be mad not to have a crack at someone like him. He's light years ahead of Murphy and McHenry types. Was a big ballwinner as an inside mid at Under 16 level as well but elite with his pressure, has the game that would translate well to the AFL.

Goes alright too, has had a few niggles since transferring to the GWV Rebels from the neighbours Bendigo Pioneers for schooling, originally playing in defence but this year moved to wing/midfield, good size around the 192cm. Teammate Ollie Hannaford also transferred from the BP's and he's ripper running small defender with a hard edge at around the 180cm mark, one to watch for sure.

Yep 2.87 sec 20m with the agility to match and a ferocious attack on the ball and oppo ball carriers.

Who have you liked so far? I can see why Smillie has been getting the big wraps on him.

Probably a slightly lesser light Lucca Grego, Zak Butters cousin has caught my eye playing in defence today though usually plays mostly midfield for the Jets, a genuine good sized Utility. Ashcroft tends to be an accumulator always lookung for the one two etc.

Vic Metro run out winners 9.13 67 Allies 6.15 51.

Jagga Smith best on for mine, Josh Smillie reasonable 1st half but seemed to be managed in the 2nd half or maybe he picked up a niggle? The usual suspects all played well, Christian Moraes, Levi Ashcroft, Sam Marshall, Zeke Uwland etc, Leo Lombard better 2nd half but certainly not his usual dominant game. Some what would be considered lesser names really caught the eye Lucca Grego, Harrison Oliver, Damon Hollow, Oliver Deapoli-Kubank and Jayden Nguyen's speed, dare and ball use when he got a run was eye-catching. Have to agree with the AFL club recruiters the depth in the 2024 draft runs very deep.
