Hinkley: All phases of the game were poor.

He shows absolutely no understanding of the game or reasons why we lost. Poor old Rucc had to give him the answers in his questions. He says "learnings" every other week but isn't able to identify nor convey any, it's all meaningless catchphrases and soundbites.

Fans turn on under-siege Hinkley in toxic post-match scenes - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1154959

Call me toxic - more like this club is toxic 🤡
"If you can't cope with it, you shouldn't be in my job. I can cope with it."

This is the bloke that hides away after we get bottled out of the season each year, right? The one that called and abused the media outlets that dated question him once? That guy can "cope with it"?

**** me he's the slimiest of used car salesman

Remember this coach celebrating the Geelong last half capitulation like it was an epic performance.

That was when I knew we were in big trouble. Others didn't see it at the time, but it is obvious now. It was a sign of the same continuing themes we've seen this year of getting absolutely destroyed in patches.

He won't get sacked yet. But I'll enjoy us imploding this year.

Even Bruce Abernathy on channel 7 said the players love him but what's the point if they don’t respect him. It's turned. But our inept president and board will dig in and just hope a new pandemic arrives
Surely a p*sstake. Tell me Abernethy didn't mention the players loving Hinkley whilst reporting Brisbane belting us at home to the tune of 79 points?

Fagan: "I'm a big supporter of all coaches, but his record at this club is extraordinary and he shouldn't be judged on one performance."

IT'S NOT ONE PERFORMANCE CHRIS, IT'S A DECADE OF PISS.

Why is it that we are the one set of supporters people think it’s fine to patronise when we use any opportunity to criticise the coach?

It’s unbelievable, isn’t it?

Apparently we’re the only supporter base on the planet who should unblinkingly chow down truckloads of sh¡t, year after year, decade after decade, chained to high-priced seats until the bitter end, forbidden from any form of protest that might hurt Poor Kenny™’s feelings.

Aber's message was that the players love him but what use is that if they don't respect him and don't fear him. This is not a direct quote but what he said was more a statement of fact.

Travis Boak cops his share of criticism on this board, but i'd argue that in 2013 and 2014 he was an absolute jet and an incredible leader of a young side, fast becoming a club great. Not the most gifted player to ever grace a field, but an incredible work ethic, and a drive to squeeze everything he could from his body. Then he just plateaued, like SO many other players under Hinkley who didn't possess the incredible natural talents of a Robbie Gray. Players like Boak would have thrived under a good coach, but how many players' careers just stalled under Hinkley when their natural ability couldn't take them much further? Ken Hinkley couldn't harness the sun if he lived in a glasshouse on Mercury.
