Good on Lukas. And yeah, definitely a good height for a 14 year old. He’ll definitely make it to KPP size by the time he’s finished growing. With Kouta doing his fitness and agility work, he should turn out ok.

FYI

AFL has named National Futures Squad. 46 under 17 boys named in squad to go through program.

Our Academy member Jack Ison is in the squad.

Jack is very much a defensive leaning utility, a very good interceptor. Last report I heard had him at 190cm so entering 3rd tall territory. (Who knows, might be a chance if growing to KPP height)

This is the go slow for committing our future first in trades this year. I was a little surprised Tyson Gresham didn’t make the cut. I assumed he would be close with some impressive Coates League showings as an underager.

A footballer over athlete first?
Do we have a defender more than likely, in the makeup of McGovern (Mitch) variety?

Hard to say at the moment as he is so raw, but has a decent level of xfactor

Was hoping to catch some of his games this year, but was splitting his time between club and school footy

Small write up from Metro v QLD in August

#22 Jack Ison (Oakleigh Chargers)
Wing | 189cm | 26/02/2007

Ison made an impact at either end of the ground off the wing, tracking into both 50m arcs prolifically. The Carlton NGA prospect got on the board with a goal in the first quarter, but was most often sighted working deep into the defensive half where he helped Vic Metro absorb pressure. His height and reading of the play allowed him to take relieving intercept marks on the last line.

Sounds a lot like Blacres
