Not directed at you, just using your post to segue. Pick 4 will be a gun midfielder. Will have to wait and see how things play out for ruck, but no need to panic. I am sure there are plans. We are moving through a rebuild and things are not as dark as often appears on Bigfooty.com. 'Hold your nerve' is what a travel companion used to say to me when I wanted to panic and jump on the first transport unit available.

I kept saying it yesterday, people need to stop giving Josh Money any extra clicks. The Dowling as sub story was false, the Draper story is false and the Cumming story was false. Ingram at Channel 9 has no allegiance to either SA club and is far more balanced in his reporting.

Really happy if this is true (although still awaiting AFL or AFC confirmation). Also kind of happy now, in retrospect, we didnt get Luko. Would be handy, but I dont think he is worth a first rounder (which GCS clearly want). The query for me now is what they do with pick 4. The messaging from Draper's "camp" not ideal, but perhaps once in the system that changes. Also hoping we retain our second rounder and dont spend on ANB...at least in this year's draft anyway.

Port are good at selling players at peak value before they slide. Polec is a classic example. Look at Chad Wingard at Port vs Chad Wingard at Hawthorn. Hell, remember the time we gave them pick 12 for Matthew Bode, while they went on to use that pick on Shaun Burgoyne?

Their trades don't always pay off, but they certainly won't die wondering.

He's a better player (currently) than Pedlar. Can play multiple roles, Pedlar cant.

I can’t agree with that. Pedlar was playing full time midfield towards the end of the season in the 2’s but can obviously play as a forward as well. Not sure where ANB is going to play other than half forward, and most would admit that Pedlars ceiling is much higher than Alex.

Dowling and Taylor did both play some games towards the end of the year, but I doubt they would have if Rankine and Milera were fit and Rachelle wasn’t dropped, and would they if ANB was available?

Bringing in a 29yo (next season) seems a strange decision for a side that is trying to get games into young players.
