So now we know why 13 is so important to Port!

It’s this line that remains intriguing to me “The Pies are being urged to consider their net win across the free agency and trade period by handing over 13 and 23.” because whoever that is within the industry needs to mind their own backyard and if it’s journalistic creativity **** off Ralph.
The article did make it make more sense how we could be considering pick 13 and Richards as in the ball park for Houston.. If it's as deep a draft as people say and Sydney are willing to pay 19 and 22 for 13, it's the equivalent of 2 normal first round picks and Richards for Houston.

Consider the net win?
Laughable
Perryman has nothing to do with this proposal.
Ralph is a moron.

We now know why pick 13 is crucial especially with Swans willing to hand over 19 and 22 for it.

We should hold firm and tell the Power you can have 19 and 22 if you don’t want 13 and Richards on its own.

That makes sense, but it’s overs for Lord. Gut feel is we want the pick for the draft to select our own. If push comes to shove I’d do that deal and forgo the draft for the known quantity.
Maybe get Port's 39 and see if we can package 36 and 52 for GCS 29.

That is where Fly needs to coach Nick better and make him a more rounded player.

It goes against all his instincts but I think Nick needs to learn that sometimes as an inside mid you go quick and long to a contest. He’s got the best vision in the comp so he always looks for the perfect creative option but sometimes there aren’t any and his DE suffers as a result.

Checkers and McStay better get their arses fit and be prepared for some sore chests after every game then with that much leather thumping into it

If we get Houston it solves such a big challenge for us when we struggle to get the ball out of our D50 when our handball/corridor game is cleverly stifled by the opposition. Watch him launch the ball 60m quickly to McStay and Cameron in particular and watch our number of contested marks skyrocket :)

I think Lord has something
yep, he's from the covid affected 2020 draft that we strategically went balls-deep in on, whilst Dekka had his random lottery number generator out by either 1 or 2 ..

but 23 would be part for Lord and part for Houston (as Port don't see 13 and Richards as adequate).....

Whats this about pick 23 for Houston?

From all reports GC don’t even want to give it to us in the first place!

More fantasy journalism.

Thought Gulden was academy

So one report says the talks are going good yet another says it's at a stalemate. So basically no one knows what's going on.
It's one and the same isn't it. Made their requests and close enough for it to be going well, but they're not accepting these early requests so it's a stalemate.

The Pies are being urged to consider their net win across the free agency and trade period by handing over 13 and 23

This comment is ridiculous, so you are viewed to win on a trade or free agency pick so you should pay over what a player is worth! We got Perryman for free, but we had to pay him well above market.
Dumbest argument I've heard. "But you got a free agent so you can give us more in a trade" 🤣

So one report says the talks are going good yet another says it's at a stalemate. So basically no one knows what's going on.

The only ones saying negative things are the ones hoping Collingwood can't get the deal done

Odds are the deal is already done and they're saving it for final day.

Dan will probably be at AIA on Monday to record all the content so hopefully Jen2310 can get there to catch them in the act

I don’t think we are that far away from the suns. And it’s Collingwood that needs to find a sweetener. Not them. To put it frankly Noble is not worth pick 23 which is the net of the trade being offered. We need to ask for a lower pick or offer a pick back in exchange.

Reckon once we find a better trade price for Noble, the Houston domino will easily fall.

The lukocious trade doesn’t need to involve Collingwood.

In respect of the salary cap - Jimmy Bartel was talking about the flexibility of long term contracts and shifting , money around. You then have bonuses for brownlow, bfs, mid season draft etc

Does a club lodge some sort of am annual salary cap report in a self assessment type system? Does the afl sample clubs to examine?

I am very skeptical as to how stringently the salary cap is administered and the accuracy of club reports.

What are people's thoughts?
