Yes there is. Its been reported that clubs rate Reid very highly - him going before us could pave the way for Jagga to fall
For Jagga to slide we need A number of things to occur.

Richmond and North swapping 6 & 2

Carlton Adelaide Melbourne to rate Draper Langford AND Murphy Reid higher than Jagga (and Smillie)

Is it impossible? No

But it is asking a hell of a lot

Watching the highlights package I really noticed this.

Had a bit of a tendency to throw it on the boot quickly.

"While usually a polished and poised user, Smillie was tested at the National Championships. Other, smaller midfielders lifted with the pace of the game, and he was afforded less time to play to his own cruisy tempo. As a result, his kicking efficiency fell to 56 per cent and much of his impact centred around the stoppages. He struggled to get involved in his second position as a forward, too."

Kid does seem like a beast though and has a bit of Hunter Clark (with size) about him around stoppages.
I reckon this might be related to his illness throughout the champs. Said himself that he felt unwell so couldn't get going

As long as he can win clearance and contested ball at AFL level and run two ways in the Ross system, he has a future. Win the ball and feed it out to Phillipou/Henry/Windy/Wilson/etc. The outside game and kicking can be gradually developed as he gets more experienced and composed

Below are Patrick Cripps' stats from his first 5 years. Clear development of kick-to-handball ratio over this period

Yes I know. But people saying there's no chance are being silly - its a lot likelier than "no chance" given whats been reported with clubs interested in other players and Norf wanting to get Tauru

He is a certain top 5 pick IMO.

Yeah…. I think it’s not even worth contemplating.

It’s that unlikely that he slips.

If we can do a deal with GWS for their picks 15, 16 & 21.
The Squad could look something like this?
Have also kept Hayes & O.Hotton on the list,
& Membrey & Paton off.
Crouch is contracted & no legit confirmation that this will change.
Couldn't find a Ruckman to fit in, keeping Hayes for that depth.

New players in Bold

B. Schoenmaker Howard Windhager

H.B. NWM Wilkie Sinclair

C. Hill Phillipou Wilson

H.F. Butler Caminiti Henry

F. Higgins King Sharman

Foll. Marshall Macrae Steele

I/C. Crouch, Jones, Owens, Wood, Byrnes-sub

Two's:

B. Hastie Cordy Webster

H.B. McLennan Barrat Stocker

C. Dow Clark O.Hotton

H.F. Hall Shanahan T.Hotton

F. Collard Hayes Keeler

Foll. Heath Langford or Smillie Garcia

I/C. Blamires, Cole, Hoffman, O'Connell

Mate you need a pick swap and then 6 Non Jagga picks.

I’m not saying it isn’t happening. But it’s unlikely and not very straightforward
Yes, I know what's required for it to happen

I'm fully aware it is likely it doesn't happen

But I think the scenario is a higher likelihood than what you think. Nothing wrong with what either of us think, we just have different opinions on what clubs above us want to do

You realise list size constraints exist right?

For the draft watchers that get down into the weeds.

I can't remember where the interview was but do remember Dalrymple saying he looked most at the hands of the recruits implying their ability to take possession and execute under pressure.

Does this change the order of the top 8 or does it elevate someone from outside that group into calculation?

Makes Murphy Reid the best player in the draft class in that event

I haven't paid much attention to this draft class until recently but looks like Reid is the late riser akin to Bont and Oliver? Along with Tauru?

Him and Tauru going before our picks means two of the 'top 6' get to us?

Proving to be one of the more exciting drafts to get involved in. Hopefully long term goes a bit better than the last few I got really invested in (2013 and 2014...)

Shuey, Yeo, Gaff (who misses the actual flag) were all genuine A graders through the flag year, even if not absolute A+ types.

Cotch is A grade for a chunk of his career but has probably dropped slightly by the flag years. Prestia gets very close to A grade. Martin obviously A+.

I think you need either an A+ and good support or a few around A.

Shuey was a gun inside mid but not absolute, utely miles ahead of Steele. Yeo and Gaff maybe Nas and Sincs level? You want guns but as long as you have a spread of high end talent you can be competitive. Geelong hardly played a settled midfield in their last premiership. Selwood at the absolute end, much less from Danger, guys like Holmes coming through but not absolutely dominating etc. Even the ruck was shit.

Really comes down to who Carlton pick. If FoS is off the board I can't see them taking Jagga. I think it will be Draper. Adelaide might take him but think that Landford/Smillie would suit better. Dees are into Smillie, Reid and Armstrong.

The chances of him sliding to us are very low, but I can see a world where it does happen

All the talk is that Carlton want Draper. They think he injects some pace on ball.

My Tigers mate was suggesting that Jagga was a bit low hurt and a bit self first when he played for their VFL side. I'm getting that that might be a bit of a common theme as others have pushed up around him and possibly ahead of him. I hope he slides. I think he'd be a good get for us.
