Was this not the reaction most people had when he was hired as high performance manager? Proved the doubters wrong pretty quickly in that role. Maybe he can do the same again?
Cannot see the appeal of Murdoch. He's 24 next season and isn't an upgrade on our players around that same age, who most on here see as trade bait.
If we're getting a player in the trade we really have to push for Gregson or Cockatoo.
I'd prefer Jack Redden from Brisbane instead of pick 20. (assuming he's worth around that pick anyway?)
So it'd be Aish, Redden and Geelong's 2016 1st rounder for Danger.
Is this a realistic trade? (genuine question)
And would Lions take pick 20 for Redden?
If you could turn pick 13 into Menzel + Redden surely you'd take that in a heartbeat?
Has anyone here paid to get the Ultimate Footy draft kit? Is it worth the $15? I'm reluctant when I've already bought the Prospectus. If anyone could post or DM the draft rankings from it I'd be very grateful!
One of the main justifications for free agency is that it helps players find opportunities elsewhere when they aren't getting games with their current club.
I reckon Walsh would be a very shrewd choice for the main job. When I first heard him mentioned it made me think back to an interesting article the Guardian published earlier this year:
"The coaching ranks of the AFL, whose tactical weaponry has been so derivative of foreign football leagues in...
Might be my Norwood bias showing through, but if we could land 21 for Lyons I'd love for us to pick up Peter Bampton. Probably a similar player to Lyons in many respects but I reckon he has a much higher ceiling.
No doubt getting way ahead of myself here, but if Bassett does get the job I'd love us to make an decent offer to Kieran McGuinness to become SANFL captain. He could be invaluable as an on-field teacher of Bass's system - a bit like (don't laugh) Ross Lyon has used Zac Dawson in the past (see...
Over-imaginative and completely unrealistic idea for trade/draft period:
Dangerfield and Lyons to Melbourne for picks 2, 3 and Jimmy Toumpas.
Pick 2 to Fremantle for Lachie Neale.
Pick 3 to Brisbane for James Aish.
Pick 10 to GWS for Phil Davis.
Pick 30 to Hawthorn for Ryan Schoenmakers.
Pick...

Matt Panos is worth a look with a late pick. I reckon he'd offer at least as much as Jarryd Lyons.
Not convinced an outside mid with pace is as big a need as everyone seems to think. Dangerfield and Brad Crouch just need to be coached properly, and Matt Crouch needs to be trusted with the...
If pick 2 really is on the table Crows should offer Douglas, who Roos loves. He singled him out several times during On The Couch this year.
Douglas and another player, whether it be Vince or someone else.... surely they'd consider it if they want mature midfielders?
Aish is already a jet...
AFL can't slide away on issue

THIS sliding issue is beyond rational comprehension.

It's all a perverse game of musical chairs.
In this case, when the music stops...
