A couple of moments stick in my mind
2007 Elim Final against the Crows when he leapt across (and into) the goals in an attempt to touch a ball. Incredibly courageous act.
2008 Grand final- what a lovely (Buddy like) goal.
Despite his penchant for self-aggrandisement, Jeff has been sensational for the HFC during his tenure as President. I thank him for his time and contribution.
He has shored up our finances with lucrative sponsorships, and has overseen excellent Governance. He has publicly stated the Clubs...
Think they might rest Guerra this week. He was hobbling pretty badly towards then end of the Melbourne game. Reprieve therefore for Cheney and Suckers in for Goo, and maybe Bateman for Savage.
Hale is not only an upgrade on Skipper, he is also far better than Renouf in the centre square and when resting up forward.
To expect Susie kick straight for goal is an exercise in futility.
As for Burgoyne he is pure silk, great evasive skills, deceptively tall, quick, and a great...
Spoke to a guy who was at training today. Buddy just stood marks all session and did not run or kick. Looked very proppy. Best we can hope for is a ruse.
Just finshed it at 100%
Funnily enough I had the most trouble with Luke Brennan. How the hell did he win an award in 2004? Shows you the wekness of our list at the time.
Dunno about that we looked pretty good after round 1 this year for it all to turn to shyte.
We did seem to have a very defensive mindset in the second half of the season, probably because we needed to win ugly just to make the finals.
I think a more attacking gameplan would suit our players...
Dear Crusty
You are right! The ten year rule did apply to everyone and you exploited it better than most. That comes from good management from Aylett and co.
Your argument that we were "gifted the South East" implies the League at the time knew the riches we were to draw from it. Nobody...
No change required and nothing to be embarrased about, but thanks for the tip Mr. Genius. Not good with anagrams?
Just about as puerile and the Poos and wees gags you guys seem go on about like naughtly prepubescents.
North Melbourne is a brothel of a suburb, omens are at hand and run is...
My disappointment will last about 20 seconds as I reflect on the poor choice I made two years ago to buy a charity North membership to help keep them afloat.
Sadly for North, they just dont have any sex appeal to sponsors or anybody that follows footy in a serious way. I won't be buying any...
In golfing terms a fade is a movement from left to right. Buddys kicks swing maginally from right to left so is that therefore a draw?
Or is the entire thing reversed because he is a left footer?
Gary Buckenara's goal to win the 1987 Preliminary Final against Melbourne after the final siren had sounded.
The Hawks kicked against a strong wind for 3 quarters that day, so it was justice to get some luck right at the end. Thanks Jimmy.
Thank you everybody for your input.
The thread went mainly along Club lines which was not undexpected. I think everyone agreed Buddy's goal was fantastic but upon reflection perhaps my claim of G.O.D could have been blurred by my steamed up brown and gold glasses during the post match...
I am bias I have already admitted so. However, any attack on the thread should include evidence to the contrary. Please list any other contenders plus vision if possible.
I’m trying to remember a better goal than Buddy’s last against the Bombers.
Putting aside Club bias, which admittedly is pretty difficult, I cannot remember a better goal, for all sorts of reasons:
Degree of Difficulty 10/10
To be that hard up against the boundary line, having run 100...
...on the train platform after the siren had sounded!
Ron Andrews, Roger Merrett (who blatently kneed Kel Moore in the nuts one day behind the play*), were two of the biggest thugs ever to pull on a football jumper. Then there were the cheats like, Alan Ezard and Matthew Lloyd, and more...
