Should be very close and a fight to the end. This "school spirit" tag shouldnt be used . Both teams will be playing like hell for their seasons are on the line. Hailbury have some awesome players and have had the wood over xavier recently (wonder why?) but xavier has improved and have some...
...the troubles that the drought have caused and aboriginal situation. U sit there and you think you know everything and are all top shit. Give me a ****ing break pal. The fact remains that out of all aboriginal scholarships that Xavier has given out over the many years only one has ever played...
What a load of crap mate! Why dont you guys get it? It is in xavier's mission statement to not give out scholarships its one of the ethos of the school. Perhaps this bloke was offered drought relief like xavier has done to many of borders not just the sportsman. In fact no offence to the borders...
Selection and match-ups will be crucial. Both Hailbury and Xavier have their large number of guns but hailbury has little depth. Similarly there are a number of overrated xaverians. Hailbury may have touch of class on ball but i feel that the xavier rotations will gradually see them take control...
Deledio is one of the most overrated players going around. I know this belongs in a different forum but cmon, the guys soft as margarine and i have on good authority that he is incredibly arrogant and up himself
give the guy a break he loves his bigfooty and is passionate so whilst his knowledge may not be wat its cracked up to be he still knows more than any of us and his posts are entertaining
hmmm not a bad analysis but i think there were some players who u missed. Is tormey playing? Some real xavier quality davo that u missed i thought u knew better but i dont want to mention them considering their cover hasnt been blown yet
Super player. I wouldnt say he has blistering pace but his verticle leap is remarkable and so when he goes forward is ultra damaging. kicked 4 in a half against scotch on a busted ankle that ruled him out against carey but expect him to be back better than ever. defensive running and manning up...
How reliable are these bests? surely a coach wouldnt want to give away any secrets and actually put the best players in. some of those lists look a bit suss
That may be so but the question remains: would st kevins be competitive without scholarships and im looking for an unbiased view on this. I don't think they would.
p.s. xavier dominates every year level from year 5 to year 10 and 2nds to 5ths so if ur theory is correct shouldnt they dominate...
Top 5 Xavier:
Sanfilipo
Noonan
Armstrong
Thomas
Wynne
Those terribly unluck to miss out: Lees, O'Sullivan, Buckley, Grigg
Those unlucky to miss out: Santili, Smith, Molan, Kennedy, Daniher, Hannebury
No doubt others will completely disagree but this is my opinion. I am sure i have...
Re: CGS pull your head in
APS will come down on caulfield. Their play has been pushed the laws of the game too far adding further to their reputation as a thug and scholarship school. I ask the question of them though. WHY? You could win many games easily without targetting people
hmmm you would hope he is just in a really bad form patch because he had minimal impact playing in the 2s on the weekend. Looks like he will struggle to gain his spot back as his speed lets him down and tries to do too much. Good luck to him because he's a top bloke
fantastic win for the xavers coming back nicely from last week. some players shone whilst others were disappointing.
Armstrong was outstanding all day controlling the game through the middle
Buckley ran amuck and hurt Scotch with his skills
Noonan starred down back - Furey did not get one...
hmm proves very intersting this one - much hype over the pre-season but now both teams are fighting for survival. lose and bye bye premiership. Molan and Grigg debuted on the weekend and were xavier's two best players and with thomas and sos coming back barra faces some tough selection choices...
Some interesting choices there. Kennedy been on that list is quite controversial especially looking at some of the xavier players u have put ahead of him. Sam Lees, Buckley, Thomas are just a few very highly rated players at xavier. How about Weddel from Geelong College. Played awesome against us
In AFL he would have got one maybe 2 weeks with the way the comp is heading. He was reckless and griggy missed school today with mild concussion. I agree that contact wasnt that strong but he hit the head and didnt have eyes for the ball. Nonetheless we should move on, enough has been said about it
look at the size difference between the two guys. sure other blokes wouldnt have been hurt as much but the fact remains and the footage proves it: never once was did the caulfield player have his eyes on the ball and there was head high contact. how else was the kid knocked out? Griggy isnt at...
Of course scotch have scholarships. Ever heard of Cyril Rioli? It seems now that Xavier is the only school without them which is sad. And for all u cynical bastards out there it is in the school's mission statement and is something that we r very proud of. st kevins bought an athletics title now...
