I think it was more lack of interest than anything Punt Road Feral, the club was financially viable but with players leaving and retiring it was never going to get up in 2011 which was sad to see as the senior side made the finals in 2010. A group of players and comittee tried again to get a...
I think the ladder will look like this going into the last round for B Grade
Nagambie 68
Kilmore 63
Avenel 62
Alexandra 61
Thornton 55
Top 2 look safe if they win this week. The big game is Alex v Avenel as the loser could go out if Thornton can get an outright against Seymour...
Yeah I'm not 100% sure either but would have thought it would be just 6 as otherwise it would be a disadvantage to sides that had a bye on a one day game weekend. Anyone know ???
I think Alexandra will only be on 55 points in the B Grade Mouche as they had a bye in that last round and would have only got 6 points not 10. Pretty sure a bye is just 6 points not maximum results like a forfeit would be.
Hows things looking over that way with the rain ? We got a fair bit over this way and I would imagine if there wasnt covers on some grounds the pitches would be wet and hard to prepare.
Mouche I understand where you're coming from we have a similar situation later on the season against Yea and...
I didnt have an issue with it Jazzy - that was what Sheafie from Kilmore posted on the big cricket forum I just copied and pasted it from Big Cricket because Doona wanted to know what happpened.
Here you go Doona this is what Sheafie posted about this game on the Big Cricket forum
Kilmore B's also knocked off Tallarook, batting first made 185 in the 45th...C Brown 59, J Colliss 23, J Walton 21...G Hatley with 3 for 17 i think, Kilmore knocked Tallarook over for around 120 i think...
Thornton played Nagambie at Nagambie in the B Grade and finished on 8/247 cc after winning the toss and batting. David Evans the star with a great 122.
C Grade took on a very strong Pyalong side and werent disgraced. Pyalong made 255 and in reply Thornton got too 8/173 cc. So a decent effort...
Not sure if anyone from Alex posts on here but one of their players Brayden Norris was picked up in the draft by North Melbourne on Thursday night. He played in the 2008 premiership win and I think played a couple of games last year when not on Bushrangers duties. Well done good effort

This is the system still used by the YVMDFL and I think it's a pretty fair one. The points cap is 32 points per a whole side. It doens't effect us at all (Thornton - Eildon) but apparently a couple of the top Divvy 1 sides were around 30 every week. Good system as it rewards loyalty so if you...
We were smashed by Yea at Yea in the 20/20 game. We could only muster up 9 players - 3 b grades 4 c graders and 2 guys we managed to con into a game. Yea made 9/167 I think before skittling Thornton for 37 in about 12 or 13 overs. Game was played in very good spirit and thanks to the Yea guys...
B Grade
Kilmore 8/162 cc defeated by Thornton 6/165 off 35 overs
Thornton had Kilmore 5/40 before a good partnership between Smith and Walsh ? both making about 50. Mark Currie took 5/23 off 9. Thornton got off to a slow start but Tim Phelps was the mainstay and the runs started flowing...
Yeah it's an open comp so clubs can play who they like in the 20/20 side.
We will be looking at giving the young guys a go as it will be good for them playing against good cricketers. Only issue I have is the timing of the first game this weekend which to most people is a long weekend.
Hav found...
Thornton 10/91 lost to Broadford 7/100 - runs hard to come by for all batsmen on a slow outfield with I think only 1 batsmen from each side passing 20, standout performance was probably the left arm bowler from Broadford (McKenzie?) who came on later in the innings and bowled well and quick to...
Back into it this week guys with the good weather around - whos playing who ? Thornton are taking on Broadford at Thornton in the B Grade while unfortunately Tallarook have forfeited the C Grade which means no game for our boys this week
Bonnie Doons appeal to join the YVMDFL was rejected at the appeal hearing this morning guys - seem the mail some had was right.... interesting to see what happens from here
I agree with most of your post in regards to the VCFL taking so long to make decisions on this league and also that Benalla and surrounding districts will find it hard to support so many sides.
However I don't think the YVMDFL are telling the VCFL who they will and won't play - a vote was held...
Not sure that the appeal has been dismissed yet as far as I know the appeal is being held today for Bonnie Doon's inclusion into the YVMDFL and Silvans departure to the Eastern Football League - fairly sure a number of other clubs have signalled their intentions to go to metropolitan leagues...
C Grade
Royals all out for 118 opening bat made about 60, Thornton 0/126 off 15 overs both opening batsmen making half centuries
Also got to see the B Grade - Alex v Rook game at Alex went down to the wire and it was a good win by Alex but it was the only game played so the result is a...
Our B Grade game is all but off - Yea haven't been able to go near the wicket all week and the ground is very wet - mustn't have had as much rain over there Sheafie - no way we could of trained at Thornton last night pitch had a heap of rain during the day and even hail. I would imagine if the...
thornton played seymour yesterday in the b grade at thornton Seymour all out for 107 in the 45th over thornton 3 for 112 off 25 over dave evans 58no and tim phelps 35no
Bit of an overreaction there mate, I think what everyone is saying is that the league has voted for a new club to come in and it has been rejected by the league and it's clubs.
But if in the end the VCFL get the final say and put clubs where they want what's the point of voting and going through...
