The Werribee set up with podsy as the key forward will restrict his opportunities. I think its worth bringing him in and play him off the bench, maybe the last 10 mins of each quarter?
I've watched Kieran play over the last 3 years and can accept his is NOT up to AFL standard. In fact, he probably should have been delisted last year...
Yet if you read comments from contributors to this board, you be left with the feeling that somehow, he has been badly done by and is a gun...
We were appauling today...we had no system going forward
Most of our goals were opportunistic !!
Last week Davidson kicked 3 out of 10 (30%) in a losing side....
He's certainly worth a shot
For the bulldogs to succeed to the next level, we need some big men to stand up.
Now with the loss of Darcy, Williams & Walsh to injury. Given that Skip hasn't got it and Granty's getting on (although he's been a champ).......who will be the Big man / men at the dogs who can influence our team...
Just throwing this up for discussion guys.....
Fevola appears to be out of favour at Carlton.
He is 24 years old, hasn't suffered any long term or debilitating injuries.
He is generally a good kick for goal, kicking a number of bags of 4 & 5 goals
this year. (not bad playing for a...
I think its time for Rocket to "bite the bullet" on our forward line set up
Whilst our small forwards & goal kicking midfielders are a good plan B & C, they are not ever going to succeed in the finals or in "big" games.
IMO Minson & Walsh now need game time in the forward line to find out...
We need Tim Walsh to stand in the forward 50 - to at least compete and start to gain confidence at the top level. Small forwards can work around him
and off him.
We need to know whether he will be a viable forward option in 2006.
IMO We have no future with Bandy, Harrison or Rawlings...
Skipper doesn't appear to be able to make the transition into the big league.
I thin our best option is to use Street / Minson, with the resting ruck playing
our of the square. We also probably need Jade Rawlings needs to come back, along with either Bowden or Walsh.
Hahn & Boyd to spend...
I would like to see the following:
B Hargreaves Morgan Morris
HB McMahon Harris Hahn
C Gilbee West Gia
HF Johnson Rawlings Murphy (R)
F Bowden Grant Eagleton
R Minson Cooney Cross
Int Ray Boyd Power Walsh
In Ray...
We should drop our 4 least effective running type of player in
favour of 4 talls - suggest
Out - Faulkner, McMahon, Birss, Cross
In - Morgan, Walsh, Williams, Morris
To harden our back line,
Consider this:
B: Hargreaves, Harris, Morris (according to hype)
HB:Hahn, Rawlings, Gilbee
Minson to take centre bounces, then drop back as a spare
man in defence
I'd like to bring in Minson, Skipper & Street to replace Bandy, Harris & Harrison. Minser & Street to do the bulk of the around ground ruck work, giving Darce some relief .....and allow hime to play as a semi permanent forward.
Give skipper an opportunity to play CHB, Rawlings at FB, and Grany...
Some players are natural goal kickers, others are not. Those that are reliable goal kickers should be rotated through the forward line, those that aren't should be banned from the forward line altogether.
Natural / Reliable Goal Kickers:
Gilbee
Bowden
Murphy
Johnson
Cooney
Darcy...
How about -
"Back off - Bulldog on board"
"Bulldogs - our bite is worse than our bark!"
"Bulldogs - Unleashed!"
"Beware of the Bulldog - enter at own risk"
"GRRRRRRRRRR"
