Don't suppose anyone knows of any footage of the Mad Monday celebrations @ Lord of the Isles? For that matter, any previous years footage of such celebrations would be good also.
No team seems to celebrate like our boys! :D
Also, any known footage of with Iron Man, a hobbling SJ and the boys...
You missed a rare opportunity to slot Blakey into the votes...shame on you!!
For what it's worth:
5. Bomber
4. McCarthy
3. Judas
2. Costa
1. Bootstrapper's ex-wife
Re: AFL Round 14 votes - Geelong vs Adelaide
5. Corey
4. Enright
3. Varcoe
2. Duncan
1. Mackie
Special Mentions: T Hunt, Christensen, Menzel. I was compelled to reward Varcoe & Mackie for their improved contributions this week.
Firstly, don't ever pay attention to media/supporter hype about other teams...it'll do your head in.
Secondly, the Pies deserve to be favourites for the flag. It's got nothing to do with them winning it last year, it's just a true assessment of their form this year. They are pulverising sides...
Another one that has benefitted greatly by the departure of "he who shall not be named". Rather than going stale in f/pocket, he has stepped up with "on the ball" responsibities.
Great stuff :thumbsu:
I feel inspired...might create a thread "If Judas was still at Geelong"
:p
Poll:
(a) 1st picked in front of everyone;
(b) delist 10% of list to afford his salary;
(c) In tandem with Selwood, Bartel, Corey, Kelly, SJ, Chapman, Ling, Varcoe, Duncan, Stokes, Wojcinski, Christensen, Cowan...
I've had no issues with this "tactic" this year, because it has more often than not created a good passage of play (inc. Sat'day, barring Jimma's absolute shocker in the last qtr).
We have found a way in previous years to turn the ball over in defence doing this, but they're seemed to very...
Yeah, I get that. 'Tis why I "backed out" with my notation about the Essendon game.
I probably should've worded my post to say give Snr the ball 10 times and I was virtually assured of seeing something special worthy of experiencing, whether the team won or lost. ;)
...how great he really was. No superlatives seem quite sufficient to describe his unbelievable skills.
Give Snr the ball 10 times, the Cats virtually* assured of a win....Jnr needs to possess the ball at least 30 times to start to have an impact on the result (IMHO).
* didn't quite work out...
I missed that comment...Wallsy did "a Laney", who would've tipped it ;)
On the respect part, I think team & form analysts were being reasonable in their predictions/forecasts the Catters would fall away from this year. I know I'm constantly pinching myself after each round at what we keep...
Careful...what have you got against one-armed short people? :D
I agree, unless someone can show me vision of him being unfairly treated by defenders/umpires. Can't say I recall his arms ever being "chopped", nor any hands in the back, charged at face on in a marking contest.
Seems to simply drop...
Re: Mackie MUST be dropped
Best not to rate who is "better" player. Everyone has differing strength & weaknesses, roles to play, etc etc. It all comes down to the weekly opposing team's list and the type of player required for each opponent.
All any individual player can do is produce their...
Re: Mackie MUST be dropped
IMO, Mackie's best position/role is what he's been doing for years. A constant of our back 6, honest, reliable & a v/good link player. He looks good on the wing, but only due to the fact he presses forward with the positive assumption his fellow defenders will win the...
I'm not sure whether you are inferring he's not worthy of the nomination, or simply looking for shared memories of his time @ KP.
I'll assume it's the latter and say I was there on the day stumped up in the old Reg Hickey. His snapped goal in the pocket (now "Ablett Terrace" section) had the...
Not a fan of kicking a team when they are down, because no supporter wants their own team to be in that postion....and it's not necessarily over for them just yet....remember Hawks '10?
Totally off topic: what's with OP's username spelling? Epic fail, or wot?
Well, you say my response was "fair enough", but shot it down. If that's not contradictory, then I don't know the meaning of the word. I'm confused :rolleyes:
On the particulat point of choosing between Enright & McLeod....well, I'd love to see a poll of ALL AFL club supporters as to which they...
Feel obliged to shoot this puppy down. Not quite in the same league as the "elite", such as McLeod.
Enright has shown in recent history to be an honest, reliable & skilfull player. Good ole Jack Dyer would certainly have referred to be him as a very good player.
5. Bartel
4. Selwood
3. Kelly
2. Ottens
1. Menzel
Curious to know how votes are accurately collated when people vote for "Hunt"....seeing both played games worthy of a vote yesterday.
Off-topic: great reception & send off by the crowd for Maxy! Hair on end stuff!
