Expansion Gold Coast never to get an AFL team.

We need a second Brisbane team first before the Coast. Bring in Southport in about 10 years another team playing out of the Gabba should be high priority.

    Most overated Player?

I agree that Hodgey has the potential to be better than CJ, I can't work out why people bag him.

Sheedy rules the Sydney back pages

There has been nothing on the Sydney news tonight about Sheedy. So frustrating.

Sheedy rules the Sydney back pages

It was heartening to see footy rule the back pages of the Sydney papers for once with the news of the great man's axing at the Bombers. I noticed it has dominated all forms of Sydney sports media for the past 24 hours. About bloody time.

All the TV ratings for every AFL Foxtel game played so far this year. Interesting figures.

I've heard the live NRL game on Friday night in Sydney gets beaten by Big Brother on occasions.

All the TV ratings for every AFL Foxtel game played so far this year. Interesting figures.

What absolute crap. Imagine if the AFL had exclusive Monday night football. The NRL wouldn't get near the top 20.

    Brisbane face another big loss

Re: Brisbane crowds are falling All the more reason to have a second Brisbane team in the AFL. It would be an easy 42,000 at the Gabba every time. To make it a fairer comparision what would the Broncos average be minus the artificial derby games?

    Carrara crowds

It looks pretty full to me. Not bad for two lower ranked Melbourne clubs. Footy is strong on the Gold Coast as always.

    Carrara crowds

Instead of being a smart twat watch the game on TV and you tell me if it's a sell-out.

    Carrara crowds

If the Roos v Carlton game at Carrara is not a sell-out then I'd be very surprised.

    Carrara crowds

A key indication of a support for a code or team in a particualr area is how far fans are willing to go to cheer for their team. You would be lucky to see any support at all for Gold Coast Titans away games and I wonder what their crowds will be this time next year when the public have...

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

    We met when???? Goose.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

Now tell me what gets the bigger crowds out of IR and international NRL. The final the of Tri Nations last year pumped in a fat 20,000 into Aussie Stadium. The world cup next year will be funny.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

    I'd go with that.

Get Ready Pies its Good night, here come the Dogs

What makes you think you can beat the Pies when Melbourne almost beat you. Dogs will always be Dogs.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

Shit crowds and I feel people need to know about it. The AFL needs to muscle in more on the Sydney media and ram home the fact that real interest in NRL is a lot lower than the media makes out.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

There were 125,000 seats available for sale at the two NRL games today. Only 19,000 of those seats were taken on a fine Sydney day.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

But this isn't an NRL bashing thread. It's merely a snapshot of footy fans' preferences of the two codes. I'd say rugby union is well in front would you?

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

As soon as the word NRL is mentioned you are in here quicker than light. Insecure are we?

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

With all the money the AFL is throwing into NSW and QLD I don't think we have to worry about the NRL being a force for too much longer.

    Daniel Wells

Wells for me too. The guy is a stand-out.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

NRL + rugby union = David Helfgott + Barry Mannilow.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

Wallaby internationals are great events that the entire country gets into but thats where the slow game of rugby starts and ends for most people. League is the most repetitive sport in the universe.

Is it NRL or rugby union for footy fans

From my walkabouts I would say footy fans are more taken by rugby union over NRL. I don't know too many footy fans who can hack NRL.

AFL should take advantage of western sydney now!

How is western Sydney considered so NRL dominant when only 18,000 bother to turn up to a local derby game between two WS heavyweights (Bulldogs and Tigers) the other night. Another WS club, the Panthers, attracted 7,000 last night. Bring on a 2nd Sydney AFL team immediately. The Swans...

    Tale of 2 Anzac Days

18,000 last night for a clash of two so-called massive western sydney NRL clubs. Is western sydney really that much of an NRL stronghold? Bring on a west sydney based NRL side immediately. The Swans attract the biggest crowds of all football clubs in the east and west of Sydney.

Anzac Day AFL delivers record audience for Ten

What do you mean little competition? If the NRL had any guts to ensure its Anzac game was on freetoair then the AFL would have competition. The NRL knows it will get blown out of the water so it hides on Pay TV.
