With Crouch and Hannebury taking his role, and young guys coming through, he may be very gettable. And since he hasn't played much he would be cheap. 2nd or 3rd round pick probably, and not a lot of salary.

Turned 25yo in Jan, a year younger than Crouch.

With Crouch choosing the saints, I would LOVE to go hard for Luke Dunstan. Bit of a forgotten warrior because he had a pectoral injury this year, but he is an absolute gun inside mid when firing in the same role as Crouch. Would get him cheap too I bet.

With Kieran Harper delisted, I'd love to get him and Moore as DFAs. Perhaps even rookie list Wright

As opposed to the usual? :p In all honesty mate Astbury will be good for you. Has shown he can lock down AFL level talls like Cloke, provides you with a mature body that is still young, and he oozes leadership. Very highly regarded at the club. :)

There is something crucial here that is being overlooked by some: He kicks goals. In the NEAFL and AFL he is the kind of player to kick 1 or 2 goals fairly regularly. Certainly knows where they are. Genuinely excited to bring him in to the side.

That seems fair. 23rd man in a grand final squad is still decent. As I said, at the very least he is great depth. 37 and Rosa for 31 seems perfectly fair to me. Wonder if the club would feel that way too. That said I expect some of the younger developing sides might show more interest than us...
