Any interest in Rosa?

- no
- yes if dirt cheap
- yes if pretty cheap

I'm probably going to be in the minority here but I actually would take him for 2 years if he cost us nothing, maybe rosa and a 4th for our 3rd or something.
Only due to there is no sub next year, was keen on him a couple years back as a FA.

I like him as a player. Wanted him as a free agent last year but he re-signed. Good experience if nothing else. One of those blokes like Adcock or Johnson who could be best 22 for us, and at the very least are great depth which we need if we want to win a bloody final :p

Yes if pretty cheap or dirt cheap for me.

What are your thoughts on him in terms of what he brings? Would he be in your best 22 or has he been pushed out by other HB/Wings like Duggan (who is a gun) and Wellingham?

I'd have him as our 23rd best player for 2016.

He's a reasonable wing or HBF. He's 28. He's solid.

I don't think he would get much for him.

If I was going to suggest something it would be pick 37 and Rosa for pick 31.

chuck in that big bodied mid who wants out and deal

You can have him haha - I honestly think he (Colledge) will cost next to nothing.

As Rosa is contracted I think the club will actually want something half decent (within reason), but I just came on here to see what people might be prepared to pay, rather than to try to tell you what I think he's worth.

Definitely, but it's not like they don't get approached during the season and get deals offered to them. Most of the deals just need to be finalised, 10 days seems too much for that.
How would you know? I'd bet it takes ages to sort out who is paying a player what money.

That seems fair. 23rd man in a grand final squad is still decent. As I said, at the very least he is great depth.

37 and Rosa for 31 seems perfectly fair to me. Wonder if the club would feel that way too.

That said I expect some of the younger developing sides might show more interest than us. Plus he isn't old enough to be targeted by North :p

that's exactly what blair loves battlers that no one wants. but it worked in miles, grigg, and houli considering we got two for free and one for a spud. think rosa will end up with woosha at the druggo's

Just call up SOS and say pick 12 for Yarran and 20. Ring Leppa and say Astbury for 21. Sign Lennon to a 2-3 year deal. Trade 49 for Moore & 67 for Townsend, use our last pick to upgrade Lambert.

Then head to the draft. Using Knightmares Phantom as a guide my picks would be:
20. Callum Ah Chee 182cm 71kg small forward
21. Mitchell Hibberd 191cm 85kg defender/midfielder
31. Josh Dunkley 189cm 82kg inside midfielder.

Changes to the list would be:
Out: Newman Astbury Petterd Knights Gordon McDonough Foley
In: Yarran Moore Townsend Ah Chee Hibberd Dunkley

Granted there are no doozies among that lot, but what does do is improve our depth which IMO has been our biggest weakness. At least this way we get the best of both worlds, ready to go talent brought in and we still bring in some real quality kids to develop. Also keeps the 'war chest' in tact for next year should a 2016 doozy present itself.

Sounds good.

If Carlton go by the AFL points system they will not accept pick 12 for Yarran + pick 20.
If Brisbane give us pick 21 for Astbury we'd be laughing.

A lot of thought into this and it's actually a very good proposal.

I'm all for keeping Astbury now.

The 12 for Yarran and 20 suits me

I'd have Stanton over Rosa. A year the difference and Stanton being one of the fittest blokes in the league he'll be sure to play another 5.

Preferably we sign neither but Stanton if we went for one

In a year that most recruiters acknowledge the draft drops significantly after pick 20 or so, I'm quite happy to be trading our picks later than that for players who will either be handy depth additions in areas we lack, or a change of scenery could better them again and they become regular 22 players , will be fine with bringing in Townsend and Moore for later picks and seeing what we get out of them

Im not saying i disagree bout people being nicer, as i think every one should. All im saying is that a lot of other boards you go to including in my experience carlton, adelade, end up leading to a high amount of abuse with little done. For example i messaged a carlton mod about it and he said that carlton fans do not have to follow the same rules as opposotion supporters and they cant do much about it.

And I'm guessing you see this as a bad thing? So shouldn't we encourage the opposite?

I seriously just don't get the AFL's reasoning behind the free agency system, they continually just go off half-cocked because they think maybe someones going to throw the baby out with the bathwater if everything's not to their liking.

The idea of getting compensation contradicts the whole reason why free-agency had been introduced in other sports. If you lose a player worth 700k, you have 700k cash to go splash on another free agent, that's how the market is supposed to work, player movement is natural and everyone ends up where they want to be, for whatever the market dictates they're worth. If so and so are waiting on AFL compensation then it just slows down the whole process and makes the movement stagnate.

Lol because it's a socialist system my friend! The free market pretty much always takes care of itself but what would the looters do?

All board is different. Some board is more hostile like the Roos board. The Roos have no other external forum to post to (unlike the Tigers which have 3) so in a way it's their only sanctuary on all of the internet.
In saying so, that's why we mods are trying to make this board different from the other 3 forums and to the other boards on BF. We want to be engaging opposition supporters to come to our board and make them realise that we are not a pack of feral etc and that we can hold intelligent discussions. However, in saying so, opposition supporters do not share the same right as us. Yes we are more relaxed with them but they are entering a tiger board and they do have to mine their manners.

Hey guys. I have some general trade news that could impact any deals with Carlton. I shouldn't really even post this because my friend could get in trouble, but one of my mates does the audio for Fox Footy, and tonight there was a secret interview with Silvagni. He managed to sneak out a copy of it.

Please don't leak this to the general media.
