Very worst thing there is in football you reckon?
I get it that you are salty at the team that ended your season but come on. There is bigger things to be upset about than goal songs at a venue your team only plays at once every year or two.
Why shouldn't they be involved?
If you attend a game of football at a rival teams home ground, you need to expect some type of activities like this. It's part of the home ground advantage and every club does their own thing in some form.
Sorry to burst your bubble but Neale had a higher disposal efficiency than the whole top 10 in the brownlow.
And don't tell me "they were cheap touches" because he also had the highest contested possession ratio.
Thanks for reminding me of this thread danster168. Seems you have provided a heap of excellent reading for me to catch up on.
Love your commitment mate.
Yeah he had a massive influence tonight with his ability to break out of congestion when no one else could. Dunks is gonna need to to a job next week for sure.
Not too worried about Carlton, much rather play them than Melbourne. If we can contain Curnow then the rest of their forward line looks very meh. The midfield battle will be good but our forward line is significantly more potent than theirs.
Is this our biggest game since 2004?
It's the 3rd time we have made a prelim with this group and we are looking primed now more than ever. Expectations are probably the highest they have been and it certainly feels like we belong in the GF this year.
2001 was the year I was old enough to realise what was happening in the game of footy. That happened to be the first year of the three peat and I jumped on the bandwagon as they were the best side at the time.
Danster is one of those blokes that would argue the sky is red if you told him it's blue.
There's zero chance he will ever admit that he was wrong.
Makes good reading though
Neale:
#1 in competition for clearances
#3 for contested possessions
#5 coaches votes
5th favourite for Brownlow
Played a big part in getting us to 2nd position on the ladder.
Doesn't make the team yet Zac Merrett does. Kinda ridiculous.
Contested marks is a fair metric, and yes Weitering has got him covered by 0.3 a game. Again not a big difference there.
The only noticable statistical difference between the two is the spoils but that is expected given the role difference.
In cases like this where it's hard to split them...
When Andrewws peels off he's often killing the contest with a fist. Hence the one percenter discrepancy.
Not sure why you're using marks as a metric when most of the marks they take are uncontested and meaningless.
Weitering averages 0.8 more disposals, but at a lower efficiency and has less effective disposals, more turnovers and clangers. Less score involvements from his disposals too.
Andrews averages more intercepts and significantly more one percenters.
Not sure how you have come to your conclusion...
Want to know what else is bad football?
Getting absolutely walloped in clearances 43-27 and inside 50s 61-38.
You aren't gonna win games of football with those kinds of stats.
