People seem to be putting a lot of stock into the Geelong game.
Yeah, it looked good at a glance. Geelong didn't have Danger or Guthrie though. Would it have been a more Essendon type performance out of the middle if Geelong had those two playing?
Probably.
Something needs to change. If...
Backline coach for the 2018 premierhsip.
At times in the last two years they had up to 16 players injured and games where they ended up playing with 0 players on the bench and injured players on the field to make up the numbers.
There's a bit more to it than just 3/36.
Wouldn't make much sense. A while back McLean was used as a tagger and absolutely killed it. Not just keeping his opponents quiet, but also racking up possessions.
If they really wanted a tagger, they already have one.
I'm not sure about that.
It was him and West in the middle with Lobb when they really got on top of Geelong in the 3rd quarter the other week. Fed the ball out to Bont and West a number of times.
Granted, he didn't kick it much as he doesn't exactly explode out of contests, but he can...
West was obviously a big factor in the middle, putting it together the way he has up forward as of late. McLean though seemed to have gone unnoticed by most. I really liked his game. Creative, and didn't give the ball away. Also tackled well.
Him and West are the ones who should be rotating...
Really looking forward to having McLean back.
First game back last year in the finals, and for that quarter and a half before he gassed he was easily BOG.
Full pre-season and full fitness...immense.
Pity gentleman's agreements don't hold much weight - honestly.
The way the league is going with free agency and trading, it won't be long until these things are written into contracts.
He wouldn't be quitting footy though. And he'd be playing in his favourite role. Full time.
Having said that, I hope he stays. While others see his value as a trade target, I personally see his value as a player for the club.
Your post gave me a good laugh. Exactly what all the Dunks theories have turned into.
Funnier still, there will no doubt be people who didn't read it for what it was, and regurgitate the joke as facts.
Loving the fairy tales about Dunkley on here. Each post adds a little more to the story.
Sure it's speculation, but the way people are talking about him as though all these little tales are concrete evidence of anything is really something else.
He had a very almost a blinder kind of game. Got amongst it and was doing a lot of the right things, but he had a serious case of the fumbles. You could see what he was trying to do a lot of the time, but just couldn't get a good handle on the ball. Straight kicking though is a very big deal.
If he does end up at the Dogs, hopefully he can do a bit of a Buckley and soften up those edges a little. He'd stick out like a sore thumb at the club if he didn't, and it seems like the kind of environment that would enable and encourage it.
