    D2 for 2011

Yes, 47 (or however many) players were cleared from the club. I wasn't one of them and I don't think I can speak on their behalf. As has been previously stated by other Aquinas people, it was caused by a large combination of factors. The club fielded under 18 and under 19 teams last year -...

    D2 for 2011

Just to declare my interest: I'm speaking about Aquinas, but not on behalf of. Phantom, I don't think anyone at the club would suggest that the playing surface is ideal. It's far from it and that's fairly obvious. I don't see how that relates to whether the club respects its players? The club...

    VAFA vs EFL

the game is going to be played at Jubilee Park in Ringwood. It is kept in great condition over summer as Ringwood's premier cricket team plays there. One of the largest ovals going around, may suit better running side.

    D1 D1 Season 2008

Good knowledge from HBP, Aquinas will have a 19s side running around in the North (2) division after not having an unders side last year. Not all the transfers are for the unders though, some handy players have been picked up. All 3 sides to play the hill people of Wandin this Saturday at...

harps could probably run 2 reserves teams for any of the Districts home games, they come from everywhere. seem to go missing on the away journeys though!

    D1 D1 Season 2008

i guess you'd need a bare minimum 80 players at a club if you're running 1s, 2s, 19s and clubbies. agree with the above post though, must be a fairly crowded training track!

    D1 D1 Season 2008

just a kid, i'm happy to inform you that the internet does indeed stretch all the way out to Ringwood, though i have to admit we have been somewhat conspicuous in our silence. hopefully it will stay this way, i'd be happy to let our football do the talking! i have no doubt there are some D1...

    Mark McVeighs' B & F speech

Lloydy is a good captain but I think McVeigh shades him in the personality stakes, and that kind of passion isn't something you can manufacture. I thought maybe our famous number 23 might have been responsible for a letter to Hirdy.

appreciate the kind words moca, sympathies i don't need, but many lagers will certainly be the order of the day tomorrow, regardless of the results. Harper, any chance of you actually running this book tomorrow? I'd love to get a lazy $20 on a Ragozzini first goal (in the game he plays in -...

no, unfortunately i did not but i saw it coming. very tough night at selection for Lynchy with something like 7 or 8 (or more?) perfectly fit blokes missing out through sheer weight of numbers. i feel worst for the guy who misses out after playing in last week's side. good footballer, great guy...

with all the problems Salesian had regarding their ground, staying up in D2 is a pretty good result for them. If a few of those young players can step up again and the club gets a permanent home, they might challenge for finals as they did last year. and harps, i couldn't think of a better...

you did seem a little eager to attack all things Aquinas related earlier in the week, but i'm not planning on apologising to whichever SMD player ends up being the target of our abuse tomorrow. (every team has crowd favourites :D ) it all just adds to the atmosphere!

not a bad summary Sloth, but I'd like to think you got your last tip wrong. the Jocs boys will push SMD reserves all the way, i wouldn't be surprised if they caused something of an upset, although Elsternwick Park is so close to SMD it might as well be a home game, so the dreaded travel bug...

about finals venues, anyone know why the VAFA website's finals fixture has the last two weeks of D2 finals (prelim + GF) to be played at Gerry Green Reserve aka home of the parkdale vultures?? Is this a mistake or could the venue have been changed?

suggesting a tank might be a little bit over the top, but going into round 18 St Leo's probably would have looked like the most preferred finals opponent for Werribee, due to their 7(?) match losing streak. All of a sudden we might have 4 genuine contenders! D2 footy at its best. Bad luck to...
