I thought he was well off the pace in the 1st half but was fantastic in the 2nd half.
Not that we play a tagger or run with player, but I see that as something he could excel at. May be that will be the next evolution of the Guelf
Not giving Darcy midfield minutes has been so frustrating from the cheap seats. He can be a bit untidy, but he is one of our rare natural midfielders and it can be seen with the way he hunts the ball.
I'll spew if he ends up in the forward pocket again next week
I could see the top 4 looking like this, which would have Melbourne a buzz. In saying that, I think Eagles and the Crows will be thereabout also. Crows will come steaming back into contention
1. Collingwood
2. Melbourne
3. Richmond
4. Essendon

5. Crows
6. Eagles
7. Hawks
8. North

Disagree actually. Thought we tackled well, but Collingwood tackled better. They got their hands free more and they trapped our space better than we did. We weren't allowed to run forward much today
Anyone else pick up that the comradrie and excitement after goals seem to come mostly from the young guys? The older still didnt seem to get that into it...
I think Heppell understated demeanor doesn't work for him in this area and needs to even fake it if he has too.
After Hepp kicked the...
As the game went on, he started to pick up the pace of the game. I hope he gets another chance this week because I think we will see a huge improvement
I see him as the heir apparent to Zaha. Cousins was a phenomenon, rarely anyone can run like that and still be good at footy.
You need to have 8-9 capable midfielders these days to be a premiership threat so hes required, just needs to get over this hiccup. Tbh, I feel sorry for him being...
I didn't think he was all that convincing in his answers but I did like, actually really liked the tone. This is what I want right at this time, Us vs Them, **** you all type of attitude.
Media coming after us (again) might be the catalyst to have something to bond with.
Play him on Selwood this week, tagging job. Week after, play on Coniglio. Week after that, play on Cotchin. Week after that, job on Zorko awaits.
You get the gist.
Side note, this kids absolutely hunts the ball. It was his most impressive feature in 2016 when he played predominantly midfield...
Always starts the season a bit slow - I think he needs a few games to get some touch back. Still, pretty ****ing good game considering he wasn't at his best
Rory Laird is an amazing player - teams need to put some work into him. Heppell also looks back to him pre 2016 form, was a running machine last night and back to his clean handling ways.
Happy for the W, but both teams need to improve significantly. Crows obviously ran out of puff with less...
Adding the 000's right now!
Great game from Jimmy, such a versatile forward with that size and mobility. Because he and JD are so mobile, it allows us to play 3 tall forwards - this is what the media neglect to mention.
5. Dyson
4. David
3. Brendon
2. Jimmy
1. Cale
Lots of honorables but was stoked with Langford's improvement and the fact he got an opportunity. Also, Bellchambers played well on one if not the best ruckman in the comp which gave our midfielders a chance to win their own ball.
I really rate Devon Smith, he could be a fantastic addition to our forward and midfield mix. My only concern is that McGrath, Zerrett, Zaka and Devon are all smallish. However, what running power particularly when you chuck in our half back line.
