Personally I have always used D'Addarios and have been happy with them so I've never bothered to experiment with any others. Dude I used to play in a band with used them too and used to break strings a bit during gigs (which I never did) so maybe that has more to do with technique/guitar set up...
I don't have a clear favourite guitarist, but I have to mention J Mascis because I just love hearing him rip it up and he has always blown me away (literally) live:

Agree with that, strats are so comfy to play.:thumbsu:
For those who didn't know, Fu Manchu are touring here in late April/early May playing 'The Action is Go' in full. Black Cobra are supporting and tickets seem to be $40 + bf. Bargain!

"Bullet with butterfly wings" by the Smashing Pumpkins. Not the worst song ever I suppose but not in the same league as their earlier stuff. Lame video too.
Having recently had a listen to Appetite for Destruction for the first time in many years, Axl's singing on there is f**king awesome. I don't know how anyone could think he can't sing. Check out the start of Paradise City where he is doing that subtle deep vocal, or the chorus of You're Crazy...
Re: Kyuss Lives!
There was a little article in one of our local street mags that mentioned Reeder playing, so I guess there is a bit of credibility to it. We shall see, I'll be there with bells on regardless!
Music is so diverse these days there is not the widespread adulation for a good guitarist there may have been in previous decades. Nonetheless there is still plenty of good axemen around, and plenty of people who still appreciate it. Earthless are ripping it up..

Apart from the excellent work of Shannon Noll of course.
As far as this record goes, I dig it but I think it could never live up to the ridiculously high expectations I had of it.
