Chad Warner
When the Sydney Swans swept up Chad Warner with pick 39 at the 2019 AFL Draft, they secured a youngster with an insatiable appetite for the contest. Warner attacks the ball and opponents with aggression and is relishing calling midfield bulls Josh Kennedy and Luke Parker his teammates at the Swans. Warner impressed for Western Australia in the 2019 AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 18.2 touches (50 per cent contested), 3.2 clearances and 6.8 tackles per game. He also tallied an average of 27.1 disposals, 6.4 clearances and 7.4 tackles per match at Colts level for East Fremantle in 2019. He earned his AFL debut against Richmond in Round 6 of the 2020 season, recording eight disposals and two tackles.

DOB: 19 May 2001

This is going to go on all year, isn't it?!

If he leaves and then it turns out that we knew all along he was likely leaving, but chose to hold him anyway rather than get a great deal in a super draft, that will be close to a knockout punch for me with this club.
I really believe he is staying for an extra 2 or 3 years , as he does love us and perceives we are in a premiership window and going home at say 27 he still has so much time . I'm not against that at all.

Biggest concern for me with that is dockers are also in the window they have a great list and he would top em off nicely ..
Fingers crossed now for 12 months big cox has the job ahead of him to get him to stay 🤞🤞🤞

Even if he was likely leaving I would rather keep him this season and chase a flag.

No concerns holding him to his contract here

As he had a valid contract we couldn't trade him against his will so this is a complete nonsense. He had to request to be traded and he didn't. Game over

It was said in draft thread during the year that he did request a trade and club said no.

And even if that was completely made up, there is still a big leap to suggest we would have been trying to trade him against his will.

I have heard from a reasonable source that this is what Warner wanted and will keep this up all next season.

Rhymes with blog.

And you don't think that your view regarding Warner is at all influenced by your view expressed below?
There is not one fibre of my being that doesn't think we'll be absolutely fine if Warner were to leave. Overrated AF.

I mean George Hewett has a kick with his son after a game and you think as a result;
George Hewett is one of the great people in footy.

Of course Hayward in your opinion is the 'most unwatchable Swan we've ever had in my lifetime', whereas Rowbottom could be the Sydney cat killer and you'd claim he was just misunderstood and that it was all Horse's fault anyway.

We all have our favourites and those we tend to despair of, but forgive me if I take your opinion or info on any of those 4 players with a grain of salt.

Regardless he is still under contract with Sydney this stuff is inappropriate to do and reflects poorly on him.
What evidence to you have that he's done anything wrong , golf with Pyke who had coached him and a former Swans captain , so what , it happens. Next someone will have a mic in a bunker and heard a conversation

No worries, you don't have to.

But if I was in the business of making things up when it suits me, I'd have gone for something to help me out in battle over Jake Lloyd all these years.
