I'm back cbf going through the thread.

What did I miss?
Luke was serviceable in a support role, kicked a goal and showed that he will be a pretty damn fine player.

Daniher is either an excellent prospect or the gold plated Son of God.

Nope.

Hogan has Carey/Brown like aggression.

Something you don't teach.

He looks to engage the body before the marking contest at every opportunity, he's built like a brick shithouse he'll toss guys aside when he's 26.

Mark my words, this guy will play 200+ and be a multiple AA, im absolutely certain of it, he's the best natural forward I've seen in ages.

Pykie, just curious in regards to Norths chances of being able to secure that mini draft selection? Hypothetically what would it take to get the job done?

Also Kristian Jaksch is one ive been very interested in all year and would love him at North, is it safe to believe he would have to be taken with our 1st pick, and highly likely would be gone by our 2nd?

It all depends where we finish.

We look like finishing 8th or 9th, so we will get a pick around 11-14.

The crows gave pick 10 and davis compo pick for pick 2 in the mini draft and luke brown last year.

Jack Martin will demand the number one pick in the mini draft.

It wil at least take our top pick, and possibly our second pick/player to get it done.
Definately do-able, just depends how willing we are to do it.

For Hogan? I'd be selling the farm.

Thanks Pykie, Toumpas going to those two clubs is such a waste. I've liked what I've seen of Wines, but I didn't see him in tonight's game, have IQ'd it.

Whines was pretty good 17 disposals and one goal he impressed and Kennedy from SA in that game aswell had 19 touches and 2 goals wouldn't mind either.

He's a ripper player, and a bargain at what, pick 20 odd, that you'll get him at, but he isn't the #1 pick like he will get made out as in the media.

Even tossing aside this years crop, I'd take Hogan and Boyd in a heartbeat over him.

There only seems to be a few (Shaw, Daniher?) standout big forwards in this year's crop.
Dogs, Brisbane, probably Freo are in the market for one; and Dees don't have much after Clark.
Couldn't see him getting past the Dees third pick - which will be #12.
There's a limited supply of big forwards, and a lot of clubs who need one... might force one of those lcubs to jump early. Where they go doesn't necessarily rank how good they are; rather what the respective clubs need.

Toumpas will go to Melbourne, or the Bulldogs.

I'd be looking at Wines, Stringer, Hrovat, Kennedy, Mayes and possibly Garlett if we were going for midfielders.

If we finish 8th we will have pick 12 - that puts O'Rourke in the frame.

I can't believe the jealousy displayed here in regards to Daniher (wait, yes I can. It's Essendon), he is a much better prospect than Hogan, by multiples.

They are both men against boys, but Hogan is almost fully developed whereas Daniher will continue to grow and fill out. He is an absolute monster of a kid and has great skills to go along with it.

Hogan is very well developed, but I take that as a positive.

He's built the same way Brown and Cloke were as teenagers, he will be a monster at 26.

The kid only just turned 17 a month or so ago, you won't see him in the championships next year, as he will be playing VFL/WAFL/SANFL at his drafted club, but I'd be backing in Hogan to dominate it next year.

Hogan came 5th in the Larke medal FWIW.

I do agree that Hogan looks an excellent prospect and has a great frame for CHF but the goal kicking????? Woeful run up and ball drop that makes Tom Hawkins look graceful.

Can I pose a question re Luke Mac. Will he really cost us our first rounder? He's underage this year, obviously, so is this the reason why he's not playing on ball or as Vic Metro "prime mover"? I like the look of him, but he doesn't seem as polished as many others.....again, could b the underage thing, but geez Jack Martin looks ridiculous.
Do our more accomplished under 18's watchers, Pykie and OS for example, see as much or more in him as say BMac from last year?
I've only watched the carnival games, so there's obviously a lot more to see and pass judgement on.
Going by some of the mock drafts there's been talk he'd be top 20-25 if available this year and there's a heap of pretty talented kids available next year as well.
Anyway, just some expanded thoughts on why he's rated so highly would be appreciated.

Actually just gone back to the start of this thread, makes for an interesting and exciting read. I even posted in it last year, but to go back now and read everything I can see what all the excitement is about.
