Its how he turns it over. He did it last week, Teakle free with 30m of Space, bombs it over his head for a turnover. Goes down the other end for a goal.

He did the exact same shit with Zurhaar in a monumental amount of space, turned over, down the other end for a goal. Thats a 12 point play the other way.

He's our third best midfielder, easily. Being behind Harry and LDU (and a key part of their form, IMO) is no slight.

I would have thought so too but maybe not based on those stats. LDU and Sheezel are better than him and it’s pretty line ball with Wardlaw and Powell. Wardlaw better at the contest/clearance (at least to my eye) and Powell more impact per possession.

He won’t improve said kicking either. It’s been his glaring weakness for years and if anything, it has got worse.

I’m not saying he’s had an amazing year. He can certainly lift.

But his stats are stark between first half and second half of the year.

He’s been our third best mid

He wasn't a midfielder until round 13, after which he has averaged about 25 disposals and over 5 clearances.

Earlier I noticed his stats this year are quite comparable to Powell’s. Who is about four years younger and only rated by some of us this year.
Which would make it LDU, Sheezel, Wardlaw, Jy, Powell, Phillips.

I’m probably the few who are not sure he has it in him to break away and show that is a lot better than Powell.

God help him if Phillips decides to turn it on or if McKercher becomes a mid.

I hate using stats in footy to prove arguments, stats dont really paint the picture.

He did have a a couple of really poor moments with how we went inside forward but again it was a team wide issue outside of Sheezel.
