Gav struggled. He was so sure with his hands when he debuted, where has it gone.

This is why I find it very hard to agree with the OP. Gav DID show something early, enough to get a lot of us excited, but unfortunately not only has he not taken the next step, he appears to have taken a backward step.

Needs to be dropped, there's plenty of others ready to step in. I'd go with Grima, and that extra tall would probably help Wright as well.

I don't think he can handle the pressure in the backline. Might be time to re-invent himself as a half forward. Hasn't taken his chances in the midfield, and seems to be playing very very unaccountable football. Don't know where his 1st year sparkle and shine has gone.

Interesting you should say that because I always felt the reason he doesn't show any flair or initiative in games is because he has had accountability drilled into him so he never takes the game on. If he's unaccountable AND uncreative, what exactly is his role?

Gav ain't in the best form right now but nowhere near as bad as people are making out. Happy to see him spend some time at North Ballarat if that's what the coaches think is best.

Pretty obvious that Hansen and Thomas played well today btw.

Thats the problem. In his first year when he was playing in the back pocket and across half back he seemed to have the balance between accountablity and attack quite right, but since he has been moved up the ground and been given more time in the midfield he gets lost in the play a bit and not only looses his man, but doesn't create either.

So you agree with the OP?

Let me be clear, he was showing signs when he first started but all he is showing now is ineptness unfortunately. Cost us at least 4 goals directly from his errors. Not good enough.

No, I don't agree with the OP because I think he is clearly up to AFL standard, but yeah, he's currently not playing to that standard and should be dropped.

I didn't see 4 goals resulting directly from his errors, but I might on replay :thumbsu:.

Urquhart didnt have a great game but he wasnt alone there , big question why was Hale , Hamish and Goldy all playing it wasnt freak rain that nobody saw comming . Ewards must be finished in the eyes of Scott if he couldnt get a game . I dont care what anybody thinks ill shout it from the hills " HALE IS NOT A FORWARD OPTION " ok he kick a bag once against Geelong .

I tend to agree with you Chrissy, he is no good forward, no better in the ruck, neither here nor there. I say play him in the VFL for the rest of the year & offload him during trade week. He was better without the rug.

Hales should've gone Nude Nuts I tells yah. It's all been downhill since then.:(

Super Gav is unfortunately Super Soft.

He fumbles because he takes his eye off the ball, thinking that contact is going to be made.

Dido his skills. When he is on the training track with no pressure, he is fine, but come gameday and there is players running at him, his skills diminish.

He is not alone, I thought Wellsy's attack on the ball for a senior player was nothing short of insipid.

We really missed the likes of Pratt and Greenwood in those conditions.

Gav needs some time in the VFL and a teaspoon of cement.

Dido his skills.

Gav will go down with this ship
And he won't put his hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above his door
(Gav's in love and always will be)

You mean like that?
