I don’t know personally I like the trajectory that he is on. Even if he doesn’t make a full time midfielder I am still happy with what we got. Not all progress is linear. He is Jake Stringer Jr in my head in the sense that he will be able to do things that few others can. Had an average game but when he took that strong mark over Cheezels and slotted that goal at the end not gunna lie it did bring a smile to my face.

Disagree. I think he has the ability but is more focused on the heat than the ball. Just a little bit more composure and we've got a solid mid forward.
I am with andleanback . He fumbles and his reflex is not great . It is why I have continually questioned his clearance work. It is not natural for him.

At this point, it Pretty much reminds me of Langford as a mid. Looks a bit like a fish out of water.

Doesn’t necessarily mean trying to develop him in there is the wrong thing to do, nor does it mean that the outcome will be the same.

But I feel it likely that HFF is his go.

Time will tell. I'll back him to develop the composure and eliminate the fumbles.
Skills needed to be a good clearance player. Reflex . Hand eye coordination. Anticipation.
Not something you tech or learn. Blokes who have it can hone it. Blokes who do not do not last in the midfield.
So far Archie has shown he can run with a bloke and use his size to block. His clearance work has been poor overall.
How many blokes are we going to turn into something ?
Hobbs is good in the middle because he has the skill set. Same with Parish. If he did not have it he would be an average small forward.
Archie can have a role to play in the middle but it will not be the dashing clearance guy.

If we had recruited Wines we would have turned him to water!

There's nothing about Perkins that screams future superstar. More "oh yeah, he's a decent player I guess".
That has been my observation so far. Could be a good player .

Yeah I feel like this is Langford all again, just back him in to be another Langford and lets not take 7+ years this time.
