Agree. Dimma is trying to take short cuts by recruiting experienced players just like TT and hopper. He isn't interested in top picks or developing young players. Let's see if the suns agree to give away top picks.

Surely with Dusty's contract coming off the books we can use that free cap space to leverage draft capital

That’s not really how the salary cap would work

We would of taken into account Dusty either retiring, leaving or taking a substantial pay cut after this year and weighted others players contracts to use that windfall

Bolton and Rioli wanting trades mid contract would have a much bigger impact on our available salary cap than Dusty retiring

Absolutely right, there is no grand principle to stand on here. We are giving up a lot, but we are also asking a lot. If we can afford it, if it means getting the deal over the line and if we get the picks we'd like, it's not even a question that needs to be asked.

Suns need to make finals. Under Dimma, the current list improved from 16th to 13th. Won 2 more games than 2023. Rioli sprints well off half back and uses the footy well.
To make a bid for an ex player was always on the cards. Yze and Caracella have knowledge of players they might recommend.
RFC haven't been able to see the full value of Hopper, as he's too injured as has Tom Lynch.
Adding 2 players Hopper and Taranto into a 22 that had Prestia, Graham, Cotchin, Martin stuffed the fwd mix cos. Martin was the only one good in front of goal.
We're 18th and we need to rebuild.
