Sport leaving FTA tv is a disgrace in this country

I feel for the kids, who grew up looking at their idols.

Its becoming a game year by year, where there is possibly a class divide.

I have Kayo but the game should be on free to air to encourage kids and families to attend. You would hate to see it become like: Rugby union (where its played by private schools in Australia), tennis (sort of considered an elitist sport), golf (can only really access overseas tournaments by subscription)

Looking at the crowd numbers in Hobart, maybe there was not enough promotion. Maybe people dont even know the game is even on?

In this country, test cricket is considered to be the top game. Think a big reason for that is the coverage for all home test matches are always on free to air.

The attitude to white ball has always been a bit 'meh' ever since BBL took over 13 years ago or so. Its probably resulted in a decline in interest in white ball for the national team.

Mo mens white ball internationals have been on FTA for years. Australia's home WC matches and finals in those tournaments are protected under anti-siphoning rules and are the only exception. And no FTA has streaming rights even when they have broadcast rights (including matches under anti-siphoning).
The bulk of the population has no legal way to watch games at home or on mobile devices.
