Thanks PH12. Averaging just over 4 wickets a match which is sevicable. Four is the minumum to expect and 5 is a sign of greatness eg McGrath, Warne. Not many do it. Interesting though that there is only 1 wicket per match between good and great. Shows that statistics can lie because it is against whom and when you take the wickets that is a sign of greatness.

only 11 players have taken 5 wickets a test and mcgrath and warne are not among them

Are you people kidding me? Bill Lawry is in line with Tony Greig for the worst commentator on TV or radio. There are times I am sure he is watching a different game to the one on the screen. I wish he would simply be gently put out to pasture.

Typical, why play a test in Tasmania, it always rains down there!

Hang on, yes it often drizzles but there's less rain in Hobart than in all capitals apart from Adelaide, and Hobart Airport, located on the Eastern Shore as with Bellerive averages 500.5mm of rain a year - less than Adelaide (547.8mm). In fact, Bellerive is one of the driest Test venues in the world.

Yes but that doesnt stop people making shit up does it now.

If somebody wants to start up the 2nd test thread, we can have our annual (or whenever Hobart gets a test) debate on how much rain Hobart gets in there....

:)

It's terrible really. What we need down here is to have the same attitude as people from Sydney, that way with all that sun shinning from our backsides we wouldn't have a problem with the rain :)

Also wouldn't be an issue playing in the Top End or in Canberra. I would rather not have test matches in Hobart, every time I have gone there it rained, and the drainage is par at best although I hope that has improved with the renovations.

Ever consider that you're the bad omen?

It rains twice as much in Sydney. No one knows anything about the climate on here as usual.

Spot on.

We also have the longest days, so when it gets dark at 9pm we shouldn't be losing half the last session like we did in Brisbane.
