Is a tough situation for this innings. India don't need to take any risks, have virtually unlimited time and no actual pressure to score, so mentally have a pretty huge advantage over the bowlers (who can't really afford to even have any bad balls in an over at the moment considering we really need to restrict their lead to 150 or less).
We didn’t need to take risks I don’t know what we were doing. Day 1 of a test…

Yes but we have some of the best bowlers in the world too. Can they not do the same? It just feels like the strategy is off. We’re waiting for them to make mistakes but it’s not a limited overs match

You can’t just pluck it out of thin air Bumrah types come through once a decade (if not more). Cummins is an elite seam bowler he is but rarely swings it. Starc can be unplayable he also can bowl utter dross. Haze is very good as being an accurate bowler but he’s not Bumrah.

If you are not a swing bowler you can’t just say hey you know what I’ll be a swing bowler. Neser would have been near unplayable on this deck imo

Our batting lineup is pretty poor at the moment, for years it has been one of Smith & Warner being crucial to building an innings. No Warner and Smith seemingly being in the Ponting-esque death rattle of his career exposes a lot of deficiencies that we've gotten away with for a while.

Yes. One is among the best few statistical bowlers of the literal thousands to have ever played at the highest level.

The others are ‘merely’ among, depending on the metrics you use, the best 30 or 40

One of the best bowlers to have ever played the game, Steyn the same. You either have it or you don’t.

Our trio are very good as a trio but they don’t have Bumrah quality individually

Maybe I’m just annoyed the media’s blown smoke up the team’s asses.

Also helped with Marnus going through a period of God like form and Head/Marsh popping up with something special when all else failed.

When they all fail though, the Tower of Babel goes with it.

Just shows Bumrah is far superior to Cummins

They are good bowlers they just aren’t Bumrah quality also why we scant produce pitches that move he’ll make us look silly all summer
