A great era where we can't win an away Ashes or India series while losing heaps at home including the Windies? Yeah nah.
Had the Ashes since 2017, don't need to win away, draw does it when we smash them 4-0 here. India, we didn't do bad seeing they doctored every pitch, won in Pakistan, NZ, won the World Cup, World T20, World Test Championship. Even last year the Windies Test was the only one we lost then swept the series in NZ. Only disasters were last time in SA and sandpaper and throwing away a series at home against India through tactical ineptitude. Previous Indian tour here we were depleted.

Been an excellent era. If you don't think so, so be it. No one will lose any sleep over it.

Not sure what era we are talking about, never won a series away from home bindis and England and has lost the last two series at home v India and couldn’t beat the WI earlier this year. Given there are only 3 major test playing countries and Australia cant beat them away, doesn’t smack “at the end of an era”? Slight sidetrack, why is Bharat suddenly the flavour of the month; doesn’t seem to add much but has a variety of shirts?

Lazy way of looking at it- great teams WIN Ashes’ series especially the last time where it was a horrible England side. Let’s not talk how poor we were in India- this side is nowhere near some eras. It’s an okay side with two elite bowlers in Cummins/Haze that’s it.

Surely in a “great” era you actually win a series in England not just draw it. It’s been an okay era with some top line bowlers.
Part of a great era is holding the Ashes for 8 years, winning the 3 big major trophies, World Cup, World T20 and the World Test Championship. Obviously not great like the late 90s/2000s but like world champions in other sports, there's levels of great.

‘doctored’ pitches are the only reason Australia even competed.
Australia drew in Sri Lanka.
Drew in England - against a side pilloried by the way as being something of a novelty.
Lost in India.
Drew at home to West Indies.
That has come after losing to India twice here as well.
Labelling the last couple of years as anything other than slightly better than average is a complete misrepresentation.
