just a tad green :) batting is going to be a struggle

Be tough for 20-30 overs then as usual flatten out. Glad we lost the toss pitch will be a road after the middle second session we just need to fight these overs out

India would have chucked a tantrum seeing the green pitch.

You do realise they have won in conditions that have been green right? India would have been fine they have the best bat in the world in Virat in their side

Basin looks magnificent.👍

Sun out, big crowd.

Deck on the greenish side.
A real cricket ground, beats a ground surrounded by stands. Some grass to sit on if you wish like the SCG hill so long ago.Showing my age I am afraid and a green top wicket do you you mind instead of those dust bowls in Asia these days.

This will be a dead set road in 20 overs.

This plan to Smith is a good plan for any other bat on the planet.

Smith is so far across his stumps that for all the movement you're getting his head is on or outside the line of off. He can leave or play the ball as he wills; you're not going to get him to play at balls on a sixth/seventh stump line unless he wants. No leg slip/backward square and a straightish midwicket means you stray straight he just picks you off for singles and twos all day to the leg side. The pitch is bouncing regularly, and while the ball's moving in the air we've not seen sharp seam movement yet.

The ball stops moving in the air, this is going to be a very good deck for batting.
