1st TEST: SOUTH AFRICA vs WEST INDIES, Pt Elizabeth

The "Other" Boxing Day test this year is in South Africa where the Windies are the visitors.

The tourists are in not the greatest form dropping one of the 4 ODI's that were played in Zimbabwe and struggling against a South Africa A side being dismissed for 193 and having their opponents at 7/351 after 2 days. Chanderpaul is back from injury but Gayle is still a doubt with his hamstring with Bravo to skipper the side should the opener not take his place.

Despite losing the first of the T20 hit and giggle matches (which became a T13 match) by 5 wickets, the South Africans have named an unchanged XII for the first 2 matches of the series, hardly surprising given they dismantled the MIB (New Zealand).

Coverage on FOX 2 on Boxing Night from 7:30 EDST.

BTW Gayle is in doubt with a hamstring injury which is still troubling him and we don't know if muppet is over his mystery virus.

Let's not forget the flogging South Africa got in the Twenty20 match. Bowled out for 50-odd?

It was a rain effected match that turned out to be 13Thirteen. Following that South Africa A handed down a 10 wicket massicare where the West Indies batsman really struggled and the bowling only gets better for the test matches.

It will be interesting to see how many people turn up to the other Boxing Day Test in South Africa.

SA have been making a bit of noise in the past 12 months that it is unfair Australia has a monopoly on Boxing Day Tests.

Chris Gayle in some good nick today.

Good start by the West Indies. These 2 teams look evenly matched. I thought SA might have the edge in the bowling department but their bowling has been ordinary and Gayle flayed them mercilessly. West Indies would be the better batting outfit though. If Kallis fails the Proteas might be in big trouble.

This post is serious A grade crap.

Not many Aussies like any of the Saffers, they are all tools. I'm sure deep down you agree as well. They talk themselves up big time then don't perform. Their captain is a muppet and they find excuses when they lose.

Will get a hiding here next summer unless they quickly find some genuine talent instead of the tried and failed.

As much as we always bag the Nine comm crew, at least thay crack a few jokes, these Saffies have no humour at all.
