Nick Larkey | 13 disposals | 7 disposals | 3 goals

“He’s really hit his straps lately.

“He missed a couple of set shots that he usually snaffles so his return probably should have been better.

“He’s struggled with the Bulldogs’ defence in the past, he had a good battle with Lewis Young earlier in the year at Etihad Stadium, but I thought he dominated Young on the weekend.

“He’s just gone back to using his running ability.

“He’s coming up the ground a little bit higher and that allows him to work back into the space that he’s created by doing that.

“When we use the ball as well as we did, it meant that we were able to get the ball to him over the back and in good positions which meant the defence was scrambling.

“He’s put a lot of work in over the past couple of weeks and he’s really bounced back well.”

One media team mantra I've really enjoyed in interviews with Larkey, Preuss et al this year has been their acceptance that they're not getting any opportunities because "the seniors are going so well".

Yeh, we're ****king flying.
Yeah, Preuss needs to suck it up - Goldy's been pretty good for most of this year and clearly plays better as a sole ruckman - but there have been a couple of occasions when Larkey could have been given a go.

Should play the last 2 games of the season but won’t.

McKay and larkey can consider themselves extremely unlucky not to have featured in the seniors.

Wood/Waite we’re out for a significant stretch of the season and either could of been brought in.
Larkey as a straight swap or Mckay coming in with daw going forward.

Brad isn’t giving our talls an exposure- when waite/thommo are gone it’s going to blow up in our face, especially if brown or taz gets injured

Farcical that he didn't play the second Gold Coast game but by this point I'd rather see him win the medal than get a token round 23 game.

Surely he's the one to take up the mantle with W80 gone. I can't see Mason Wood getting it done as much as Larkey could once he flourishes.

Different type of player.

He's a classical full forward.

I still don't reckon he'll play a lot of AFL next year.

Don't reckon he'll play a lot either.

Will probably on a heavy duty beef up program this off season.

Contrary to popular opinion on here, I think they'll give Wood a solid crack along with rotating Daw at times.

Odds on to get games certainly, but not a regular fixture just yet.

Speculative late KPP pick - if he plays 10+ games in his third season in the system he will be well ahead of schedule.

He kicks goals in the VFL because he thinks and moves like an AFL footballer. Completely different story at the next level but it will be interesting to see how much opportunity he gets in 2019.

Wouldn't surprise me if he gets a different role in the VFL next year, up the ground more. Hopefully under Waite's guidance.

Like it.

I'd give him a run at CHB as part of his development, particularly if McKay plays seniors.

Frosty watch today. Port Melbourne play Footscray at 11am today while Souva plays at 1pm. Should know how much he would need to win if Lisle kicks a few goals today.

Wood is still no certainty to be at North in 2019, rumours around that we may strap our first pick to him depending of course how other situations pan out. is a very flaky footballer imo and I have huge doubts on whether he has the mental fortitude to take on a KP.

In his first few games he was fearless, now he second guesses himself
