My current forward line is as follows:

Chapman, Pavlich, Deledio, Franklin, Giansiracusa, Ziebell and Sidebottom. With M. Brown and W. Thompson as emergencies.

I'm looking at getting in Didak this week, however I'm not sure who to trade out out of Ziebell, Sidebottom and M. Brown.

M. Brown has good job security and will be the perfect emergency coming to finals, Sidebottom still has a lot of room to move money wise but does not have the job security which M. Brown offers.

Also considering bring Ellis in for Suban this week.

Thoughts?

Notice that you gave reasons for not trading out Sidebottom and Brown but didn't come up with any reasons to keep Ziebell. I think that is your answer

I've got M Brown and Sidebottom. Brown's job security means I'm keeping him. I'm also in no rush to sell Sidebottom, but I will eventually if I have trades left to do so.

I don't have Ziebell, but I would trade him before the other two (easy for me to say!)

Trades are doing my head in the last couple of weeks. With Goodwin and Warren out and Hentshcel being a total waste of space, I will either cop a zero or need to trade. I'm on top of my league and playing no.2 so I would like to win to stay a game clear! Have 12 trades, 109K in bank.

Option 1 - Cop a zero in forwards, trade Cornes to Lockyer (+$78K)/Mundy (+142K) then next week trade Otten to Bartel + 1 downgrade

Option 2 - Cop a zero, Cornes to Mundy, Haselby to Bartel, .

Option 3 - Trade Warren or Hentschel to Walters (hoping he gets a game to cover) and maybe the Cornes trade (still undecided). Then next week trade Otten to Bartel + downgrade

Option 4 - Trade Haselby to Bartel, Warren to Walters (again, hope he can cover)

FYI this is my team (with HMac and Cox in Ruck)-

Goddard, Enright, Adcock, Fisher, Grimes, Houlihan, Broughton (Cornes (INJ) ,Petrenko)

Gibbs, Selwood, Kornes, Cross, Haselby, Otten (Muston, Sidebottom)

Pavlich, Deledio, Gia, Franklin, Higgins, Thomas, Goodwin (INJ) (Warren, Hentshell)

Thanks! I'm still getting the hang of dreamteam, but want to beat the guys at work :)

Looking to bring in one of Kornes or Stanton.

Leaning towards Stanton because he's cheaper (only by 7k) and has a huge ceiling. Thoughts?

I too have a forward bench consisting of Warren and Hentschel, but as I have 7 playing forwards, I'll have to persist with it. Trent is a waste of space, but seems a waste to trade him out just yet for me anyway.

If I was you, I'd probably look at Ballantyne. I don't know much about Walters, but I imagine Ballantyne will be assured of more games (if fit!). Then I'd look at moving Cornes on. Depends on how much you need the money, but it'd be a 50/50 between Lockyer and Mundy - probably lean towards Mundy for value and you'll have more cash to upgrade Otten to Barte next week.

In: Ballantyne, Mundy
Out: Hentschel, Cornes

Leaves you with $178k which probably won't get you Otten --> Bartel next week, but I guess you could trade out Warren instead of Trent and then you'd have more cash.

I've got $346,900 to spend on a forward, so agonisingly close to getting Didak, but it can't be done :(

Any suggestions for the best to get (not Higgins or Franklin)?

Brown, Brennan, Davey are the standouts and I'm probably leaning towards J Brown.

Time for the final upgrade of my backline, currently

Goddard
Lockyer
Fisher
Mundy
Mackie
Cornes
Houlihan ---> Milburn/Gilbee/Other Under 329K

Broughtan
Pearce

What are peoples thoughts? I'd been planning Milburn all week but with his age I'm leaning towards Gilbee.

I'd bring in Gilbee. He'll be alot better for the break to rest up that ankle.

Have been agonizing over who, out of Rich & Haselby, will be my sacrificial lamb to bring back in GAJ this week. Whoever I choose, the other bloke will essentially be my 6th mid for the year, as this will take me down to 8 trades.

Should I:

a) Rich > Ablett (leaving Haselby as 6th mid); or
b) Hase > Ablett (leaving Rich as my 6th mid)????

EDIT: Geeves Train, you could do alot worse than consider Ellis down back at $288k as well, IMO. Has scored 82, 20 (injured), 99 & 60 last week from 3 quarters. Had an injury-interrupted preseason too. Is a great cheap option, is another one who the break will benefit.

hey guys. going to do zaharakis - bartell, instead of rich - bartell

if i get rid of zaharakis means i dont save that much cash and will force me to only upgrade one of Hill or krakouer/zeibell

which one should i upgrade?

or should i get rid of rich - bartell, which lets me upgrade krakouer/zeibell and Hill

heres the side

Is it worth trading hasleby for dal santo?

I'm getting Bartel in for Rich next round (using warren as a cash cow), and I have enough cash and trades to do it...but is it too sideways a trade?

Currently my side is looking like this:

B: goddard lockyer adcock drummond hargrave fisher grimes broughton suban
C: selwood corey kornes tuck hasleby rich muston anthony
R: cox mcintosh jacobs browne
F: chapman riewoldt pavlich giansiracusa deledio higgins franklin dowler warren

8 trades left, 1 this week, 29.1k

^^^^^

If your not happy with Haselby's scores and fitness then trade him. Maybe to a player like Scott Thompson

I have a question. I have been absolutely destroyed by injuries this year and am down to only 4 trades.

I have the cash to do Zieball to any forward. SJ and Davis would leave me with no money. Didak would leave me with 80K.

Is it worth doing it?

Normally, i'd say definitely SJ, but given your trade situation money in hand is like gold, so I'd go Didak. He'll be an awesome pick-up anyway.

Thoughts on my situation? Rich or Hase as my 6th mid for the year??

Depends on the rest of your team really. If this is the biggest problem area then probably go with the player you think is most durable and able to perform.

ONEEYEDHAWK:

Keep Hase mate. I think Rich in his first year won't average as much as him for the rest of the season, especially since Hase is probably one of the best midfielders for Freo, while Rich is competing for the ball with the likes of Black, Power etc.

I reckon it depends on your mid field emergencies. For example if you have Zaha and Muston for your 7th and 8th mid then I'd be inclinded to stick with Hase because I think he will average higher than Rich.

However if your bench is two players that are unlikely to get games I'd stick with Rich because he looks more likely to play a greater number of games than Hase.

Of course these players seem similar in DT ability so really I think luck will play a fair part of what would of been the best choice at the end of the year.

Hodge (307,800)
or
Ellis (288,800)

I think that Hodge is the obvious choice, but he's role and injury problems haven't allowed him to score big this year. If Hodge get's fully fit and plays that quarter back role I have no doubt he will average close to 100.
Ellis looks like a very good DTer for the future but is he a top 10 back for the second half of this year.

Which one will average more for the rest of the year?

my midfield has been copping it the last fews weeks, missing corey for a couple. Now ive got boak and coughlan out. Was just wondering out of coughlan, boak and rich who u think is the best option to upgrade.
Boak wasnt a player i had planned on trading as he was doing well for me this year but his injury could kill me since i have beams and barham on the bench with neither playing. Coughlan was also a player i had planned on keeping atleast till later down the stretch but how much do u guys think he will feature from here on out. Lastly Rich was the player i had planned to upgrade this week and im wondering whether i should bite the bullet and trade him or address the other players to avoid copping zeroes.

Looking at getting bartel for whichever player i decide to trade.

I can't quite remember your team.......would you mind posting it again? :D

I have Mitch Brown, Walker, Sidebottom and Warren all in my forward line.

Who do I trade out for Riewoldt? Probably Warren given he's injured for 3-4 BUT he scores higher than Brown/Walker and probably could go up a bit more cash. But what happens if he can't get a game, or isn't the same player when he returns?

How many trades do you have left? Seems like you're midfield has been destroyed!

Given the amount of 0's you'll be copping, I'd be keeping Rich. What about bypassing Bartel and picking up Kornes/Thompson/NDS/Stanton etc for Beams or Barham if you have the cash? That way you could keep Boak and Coughlan.

Hard to know what to suggest not knowing how many trades or cash you currently have. And do you have one of Ablett or Swan? If so, might be easier for you to skip Bartel.

This is for my 7th forward position.
