I'm copping a zero either way, but I'm thinking bringing in another midfielder will net me more points. If i went the mids option, which of those 4 would you choose? Corey looks like he will play backline for abit, which may reduce his scoring.

I wouldn't go Sandilands if that helps! As you are copping a donut - you would go for the best player - and Sandi would be 5th on that list

Hayes = Maybe rested as a Saint Player
Corey = Key Position Player this week and maybe longer?

Leaves Selwood and Boyd. Probably go Selwood as he could be more of a target with Corey & Chapman spending less time in the midfield.

I would avoid bringing in any Saints or Cats players at this stage, its a given that some of them are going to have a week off over these last rounds.

For some reason, I've still got Houlihan in my team even though i'm doing quite well now.
I finished 4th and have 3 trades left.
Im really considering trading Muston to Van Berlo or anyone really as I will have DeBoer covering. This will leave me enough money to uprgrade Houlihan to Enright/Lockyer.

Is this worth doing?
With 4 trades left I would definately do it, but having only 3 and leaving 1 trade for 3 weeks is a litte risky I think...

Thoughts?

if you have a real shot at beating the 1st player then id consider it otherwise yes i think it would be too risky to have 1 trade left for 3 weeks if you are aiming at winning finals. instead id just keep houlihan and wait and see with injuries, if you lose this round then you have to consider using two the next to upgrade him

What do you guys reckon is a better option:

Cox -> Sandi; Warren -> LeCras/?

Cox -> Petrie; Warren/Higgins -> Pav

Cox -> Petrie; Higgins -> SJ/Roo (one of Balla or Sidebottom on field; Warren on the bench for the rest of the season)

Basically I can either hope Higgins comes back soon, or upgrade him, but have to carry Warren as dead-weight.
Hopefully this will leave me with enough money for my last trade to upgrade a mid or back (depending on my needs).

if you are copping a 0 either way for the rest of the season then option 1 obviously and id go corey or selwood.

week1: trade purgoyne to wilson and play suban on the field, upgrade haselby to swan - 2 trades left now
week2 or week3: downgrade deboer to anyone (anthony covering also) and upgrade suban to hargrave/enright...0 trades left for 1 or 2 weeks

OPTION 2:
week1: trade purgoyne to wilson and upgrade suban to hargrave/enright. 2 trades left.
week2: trade haselby to pendlebury/hayes/selwood/dal santo/boyd/sewell. 1 trade left

Yep I'd go Option 2 as well. Seems more balanced, and that last trade could be handy assuming the rest of your team will get you through your league games unscathed.

yeah that's the one i came up with after the guys on footytragic came up with option 1 for me so i was looking like doing that one anyway. thanks guys.
who would you take as the gun defender out of enright/doughty/duffield/grimes/hodge
(if i get hargrave i cant afford a true gun in the midfield)
i think its out of the first two people and i will probably choose enright

Turns out I can also prob. do Cox -> Sandi; Warren-> Pav/SJ (but not Roo).
Is that a better option? Pav is obviously great value for money, but SJ probably has more scoring potential. Is SJ likely to be rested? Kinda worried about bringing in two Freo players this late...

All I know is every week I look at the Freo board, at the Changes for rd X thread, and every week there are at least 5 people saying that Hill and Suban will be rested.

This may be the week they finally get it right, but until Ill believe it when I see it.

Leaning towards didak at the moment. Apart from essondon dont really like browns run home. Although Davis and Goodwin have hit very good from in the last couple of weeks.

Went Garlett -> Wilson to avoid a Riewoldt donut, and now upgrading Raines to either Cornes or McGrath to avoid another in the backline. Will still suffer one.

Who should it be? Chornes or McGrath?

if purgoyne plays then i can just upgrade lovett instead to sj/didak/davis/harvey and i still have enough to upgrade haselby next round and have 1 trade left for the remaining 15 injuries ill probably get

i just need anthony to score 105+ for monty and i wont feel so bad even though riewoldt, lovett, balla and goddard are also out but yes, who would people get out of johnson, didak, davis and harvey. im worried about geelong resting johnson but also worried about didak and davis not handling a tag as well as him. i doubt ill get harvey but still interested to see if anyone would choose him?

I have $200 spare if I make this trade, is it worth getting Swan to most likely cop a zero in the forward line for the next 2 weeks with Ballantyne suspended? (My opponent also has Ballantyne with no cover)

Id probably be leaning towards Van Berlo. Good chance to play the year out, but will also probably be one of the first players to be dropped if some injured players come back this year.

Yep I'd go Didak as well if you can afford him. Slightly riskier than JB, but more upside (and cheaper). Don't really rate Davis for some reason, and the only reason to get Goodwin this late is if you're struggling for cash.

Plus Didak/Davis have a better run home than JB...
