Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

d.wells.. is he fit? surely hes due for a good year. and for only 360k if he reaches his potential surely hes a 500k player?

Wells?? ..... no, no NOOOO!

Sure he's relatively cheap but I have third-degree burns to 90% of my body from picking this guy last year. For a similar price, I'd go with someone like Chris Masten (just quietly).

Colin Garland ...thoughts?

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

Xavier CLarke at brisbane? will he get much of a game, i've heard alex rance have bulked up also and will look to improve on a solid 1st year. tossing up between the two around the $250k mark and hoping to grow in price. whats everyones thoughts?

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

personally think the x man was over rated @ the saints maybe a club change will do him good but doubt it, Rance is never going to average more then mid 70's maybe 80's at push.
any one got any thoughts on Mckernan stepping in for the bird man???

Clarke's injured, won't be playing before Round 8ish according to the club. Would be a tempting target around then if he plays well in his first couple of games though.

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

Some of the Hawks players will be nice at their price.

As with discussion on Taylor Walker, I'm not sure he will be a good enough player to start topping 70+ points even consistently. Wouldn't go near him.

As for Josh Kennedy = YES!!! this guy is gonna score well.

I reckon Hodge, Vince, Kennedy, Masten, Hurn, Naitinui, Franklin, Henderson are going to have a stand out season.

My player in ? is Schoernmakers, Will he be a regular, and how many points?

Second ? what are the 2-4th year midfield type players ready to break out in 2010? Players like Masten?

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

redden from lions?? is redden worth his SC price? will he play all year??? and i cant decided between wells and leigh adams... wells fit is a bargin but really how is he?? we say his fit evey year but then he comes out and gets injured??? and also josh hunt his well worth his price fit but is he fit?? will he play?

Rick Ladson is best valued players in SC, stupid not to have him

oops totally stuffed it up. I meant Daniel Stewart, was thinking of the Redden in our list. Was close:eek: means I put the wrong player in my list

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

David Armitage??

expensive and hasn't proven his spot 100% yet, id take the safe bet with Bernie Vince i can't see him not playing where armitage if he has a poor game or two and gets dropped to vfl he will struggle to get back into that list!!!!:thumbsu:

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

have been struggling with a few decisions...

do you reckon michael hurley should be a starter, and is Dennis-Lane expected to play many games this year.

And then the big one, Cox or Sandilands?

I'd avoid Hurley personally. Hes got a few things hanging over his head.

Firstly, hes been in a bit of trouble lately. Secondly, the 2nd year blues usually hits most players. Thirdly, we arent even sure what position he'll be playing. Forward or back? For me, too much uncertainty.

Cant answer TDL, keep an eye on him in the NAB. If he keeps performing, then they have to pick him.

Sandilands. Alot of people have jumped off Cox this year, and for good reason I think. Hes been injured, and having Naitanui on his ass will decrease his dominance I think. :thumbsu:

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

Just wondering on your thoughts on a few players,
Beau Waters
Matt Maguire
Levi Greenwood
Amon Buchanan

Goddard Up Forward

Hmmm, I thought about talking about this in the player discusion thread, but since Goddard is nearly everywhere, I'll make a new thread, so everyone can see it.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/89978/default.aspx

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=677169

Articles talking about Goddard up forward.

Personally, I think Goddard would be great up forward. He scored 4 goals (I think) in a quarter against West Coast when we smashed them early in the season, and I think he would be a great partner for Riewoldt. Kozi, as mentioned in that bigfooty thread, could drop back to CHB (where I think he would be awesome at).

The real question is: How will this affect Goddard's scoring if he does play Forward? Furthermore, how will this affect the scoring of Riewoldt, Fisher and (if you for some reason have him) Kozi, among others?

Thanks in advance guys, Thomas

Re: Goddard Up Forward

i thought he was gonna be in for a really good score last night but unfortunetly got 74 i think and also 4 clangers

Re: Goddard Up Forward

I would like Goddard playing in the forward line
that would just make st kilda an easier team to beat

Goddaaaard Has to play in the midfield or backline.

Re: Goddard Up Forward

No indication on last night's performance that he will be worth his hefty price tag. I will wait and see for a few rounds.
