Enfield or something wasn't it? Not sure he ever played but seem to remember him having pretty big wraps on him.

Looked up Scum's 05/06 season on wiki, was actually this dud:

Had big wraps on him coming through US University football. I do remember Enfiled being another Yank dud also.

Enfield did his knee twice from memory and never played because of it.

Enfield trialled with Australian side Sydney FC, throughout the second half of March 2007, and played two forty-five-minute halves in trial games, scoring against the Wollongong Wolves in a 3-2 victory, and then having a hand in all three goals as Sydney beat the Marconi Stallions 3-0. On April 7, 2007, Enfield signed a two-year contract with the former A-League champions.[1]
He made his debut for the club on September 9, 2007, against Perth Glory FC,[2] coming on as a second-half substitute and becoming the first Jewish player in A-League history.[3]
In late September, he suffered a serious injury to his left knee during training which ended his season. Enfield underwent knee reconstruction surgery to repair tearing to both the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments, and was expected to return to training at Sydney in mid-2008.[4][5] However, Enfield suffered another major setback when an arthroscope test showed he still had cartilage damage. Enfield missed the start of Sydney's 2008-2009 season and, due to his extensive injury issues, he was released at the end of the season.
Enfield returned to his native California in 2010 and subsequently signed to play with Ventura County Fusion in the USL Premier Development League.

NEWCASTLE Jets have continued to rebuild and bolstered their squad for the 2011/12 A-League season with the signing of former Sydney FC defender Byun Sung-Hwan.

The former Korean international, who was released by the Sky Blues at the end of last season, has joined the Jets on a one-year deal.

Good signing. A quality striker and all of a sudden Newcastle should be a title threat.

Wait a second. How does a guy thats released from one poor A-league another poor one make them a title threat? Striker? With 0 goals. I thought he was a defender.
About the only thing he has done is score the winning penalty in the MV final.

t_d did not mean that at all.

most of the fury players are moving back to state leagues, that is so sad. Only Cernak and Williams managed to move to other A league clubs,

Dunno were you came up with that BS. The majority of players who have gone to play in State Leagues, have signed just for the off season.

Don't worry TD, Perth are close to signing Hughes...

Adam Hughes.

Gold Coast looked to have it sewn up but Perth have thrown in a late offer.

You serious? Where have you heard that?

Also confirmed signing: Adriano "Pea Heart" Pellegrino has signed for the Mariners as well as Brad McDonald and Troy Hearfield.

No loss for the Glory. A good player when he wants to be Pelle but can be lazy as f**k for a few games in a row before scoring his one screamer each year which seemed to gloss over his lack of effort.

It's all over a local SA football site. No links as yet.

Glad Brad McDonald gets another chance, thought he showed a fair bit for the Fury, not too sure CCM is the best place to go with Josh Rose occupying LB.

so, the decline has begun. maybe pello will be a stable mate for baird.

While Pellegrino is in Adelaide training solo and waiting for pre season training to roll on, former Adelaide midfielder Adam Hughes will join former Reds skipper Travis Dodd at Glory.

Glory is next week expected to announce Hughes has signed a two-year contract after Adelaide tabled the midfielder a contract extension this year.

However Hughes delivered his response after the Reds had set a deadline which prompted club officials to withdraw the deal.
