2011 Ladder Predictions - Part 2

You've left Hawthorn out? OK

Also can't agree with your assessment of Brisbane. That's just weird. Knawing is also spelt gnawing. Sorry, I have been riding an emotional high for the last week and I had a vision.

Matty Primus is also a gun. That's a really bad call about him. You need an office manager type person these days like Longmire rather than a neanderthal.

You also have Sydney, Carlton and North Melbourne too high. I agonised over North, you may be right there.

Otherwise, your assessments are pretty good. Thanks

Much appreciated

Melbourne

Carlton
Richmond
Bombers
Brisbane
Port
Gold Coast
West Coast

Expecting big improvement from the Crow's, bit of a slide ffom the Dogs (unfortunately) and Carlton. Massive improvement as teams from North, Richmond and Melbourne but not quite enough to make the 8.

I think this season will be very even with about 9 or 10 teams still vying for the last few spots in the 8 come round 24.

GC to win 4-6 games.

So funny to see the same thing every year. Majority of predictions will have the posters team above (normally one position above) Collingwood. Good Luck with that, you won't even make the 8.

Still a lot to happen before the season kicks off, but roughly:

lol west coast 8th , north 14th:D
either a troll or you don't watch much footy or you are still in primary school

Picking the ladder in the preseason is like picking what direction the stock market will go over a two month period. Last season doesn't count for much when the football season starts but it's all people have to off at the moment.

It's not unreasonable to say Westcoast will finish bottom four, it's stupid to make comments like "lol Westcoast @ 8". Westcoast finished well below North Melbourne in 2008, yet finished above North in 2009 and in 2010 finished below North again, im sure at the end of 08 similar comments where applicable.

lol it will be funny when we beat you at your home ground without grima, mcintosh, bastinac and cunnington.
enjoy another spoon

Its amazing that you are really trying to live up to cunnington's nickname. Lets see if the detective can work it out. How are the two and a half members going Mr. minus ningon.

This is end of H+A
1. Bulldogs
2. Collingwood
3. Hawthorn
4. Carlton
5. St kilda
6. Adelaide
7. Geelong
8. Sydney
9. Port
10. West Coast
11. Melbourne
12. Gold coast
13. North
14. Brisbane
15. Fremantle
16. Essendon
17. Richmond

It'll all click during H+A for the dogs but that doesn't necessarily mean a flag. A bit like st kilda's 09 H+A. Cooney to be great, Griffen for the brownlow and hall to stand up for the last time.

Collingwood a bit like geelong of 09 or st kilda this year. All focus is on september so may drop a few games during the season but watch out at when it gets to the pointy end.

Hawthorn's full season will be of a similar to mould to this year post round 7.

Carlton to take the next step and make top 4 only to fall down the ladder in 2012 when judd has a bad injury run and murphy is at GWS

Melbourne Have the tag of an easy draw and everyone is looking on them to improve. Theres almost the thought that they are already in the lower reaches of the finals. They'll get a rude shock when they realise what effect the senior players they've lost has on the rest of the squad.

North. All this talk of petrie being the saviour and taking them places is all talk. He's been their great white hope of a respectable forward line and its not going to happen. Mckinley to have a renaissance and kick 40-50 for the year but have the same problems as he did at the eagles. You aren't a good team when your prime forward target is a 6 foot nothing tweener full forward.

Fremantle. Have never had two good years in a row. They are having major injury troubles even before the season begins. To have a really bad run with injuries to key players like the eagles in 08 and after losing some important players.

Richmond. Had the coleman medallist and finished second last. They were the worst team for most of the year and had the lowest percentage of all the teams. Season two and the honeymoon if you will is over. The other teams will have had time against hardwicks plans and his gamestyle and it's only going to get tougher for the tigers. Such as pity as there is nothing more inspiring in football than a rousing rendition of yellow + black.

West coast to finish 10th. The end of which and opposition supporters will see us more as they did at the end of 09 rather than the end of 2010. Woosha to lose his job and the board to get hard for the first time since the judge era.

Brisbane. To have another poor year but the combination of fev+brown to keep them off the bottom. If they sack fev before the season gets going then you can move them to bottom of the ladder and everyone above them 1 place up.

Hird will be a no show. Look at the last time a coaching squad was put together and the heart wasn't really in it. Will have similar results to blight coaching st kilda.

you do know you have the WORST list in the comp which got you a wooden spoon and will get you another one.
Worst midfield of masten, ebert, selwood, selwood, kerr, gaff, shuey
rucks nic nat who is flashy but inconsistent and cox who is ageing terribly
defence: glass is old and bad, waters-only thing he is good at is sniping, sheppard-dud, schoefield-dud, hurn-your best player
forwards: only 2 good forwards in lecras and kennedy surrounded by hacks like hams, strijk, wilson, weedon, embley etc

1. Collingwood - Barring injuries, should go back to back

2. St. Kilda - Might have another year left in their gun players, ageing list

3. Fremantle - Another pre season for their younger players should see them develop further

4. Hawthorn - It's now or never for the Hawks

5. Carlton - Could be in trouble if Judd goes down, but should take part in September unless something drastic happens

6. Sydney - New coach, I can't wait to see the improvement in youngsters like Rohan or Jetta

7. Western Bulldogs - Will decline but won't slip out of the 8

8. Geelong - New coach and new era, expect Scott to give youngsters more game time in place of the veterans
----------------------
9. North - Another year before they make the 8, expect more improvement in their team.

10. Melbourne - Another pre season into Scully, Trengrove, Watts and their other young players. Won't make the 8 in 2011 but should in 2012 onwards.

11. Port - Don't know much about their list, but people on here are really underrating them.

12. Adelaide - As with Port, don't know much about their list, it won't be easy replacing Edwards, McLeod and Goodwin in one season.

13. Essendon - New coach, won't rise up the ladder drastically, but expect more of a defensive gameplan and more accountability.

14. Richmond - Exciting young players, but still a few more years away, list needs more experience

15. West Coast - Have really poor skills and might be time for a new coach, but their list has some very good talent.

16. Brisbane - Voss drove them into the ground during trade week 2009. Traded for draft picks this year, but lost key players in Rischitelli, Brennan and Sherman, and they still have a heavy reliance on superstars on their last legs (Power, Brown and Black). They still managed to uncover future players in Rockliff, Banfield and Redden.

17. Gold Coast - Young list, few experienced players. Will be a few years before they challenge, as most of their list is raw, but have the correct young players on which a future powerhouse can be built.

INorth. All this talk of petrie being the saviour and taking them places is all talk. He's been their great white hope of a respectable forward line and its not going to happen. We finished 9th without him.

So Petrie returning is going to make us a worse side?

As I said, still a lot to happen before the season starts.

Many people tipped West Coast to make the 8 last year, but everything went wrong.

At this stage I would have West Coast, Melbourne, Sydney and Gold Coast and Adelaide all in the running for 8th spot. Best case scenario I have for North is 11th.

Considering you have North in 4th I hardly think that your opinion holds much weight.

lol where have i said north will come 4th?

North's best chance to kick a winning score this year is through Corey Jones and a resurgent David Hale.

Oh wait...

Can a mod please red card Ziebull, he is clearly trolling and bringing this thread into disrepute.

I took North to win the spoon at $8.00 last year and traded them with a lay at $2.50 after round 2.

I can't wait for North to make me more moolah this year. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
