Re: Round 2 trades

Thinking at the moment is Easton Wood out for Mark Nickoski.
Wont make a final decision until Friday.
Hey Mof.

Wouldn't pull the trigger on this trade.

Whilst Nico had a very good game on Sun (best in a few seasons tbh) he isn't cemented in the 22 (was a late inclusion) and when playing can go MIA for long periods of time.

You would be better of with a rookie I would think. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 2 trades

I should have enough cover on the bench for this week. I've heard that Shultz will be out around 8 weeks. You think I should hold off until next week to make sure I make the right decision?

Pretty much. If you have cover then wait the extra week and you can

1) See who has A LITTLE consistancy (eg Tapscott, who everyone is raving about, may have a shocker next week and get dropped)
2) Avoid an injury. Nothing worse than pulling the trigger and then having your replacement getting injured himself
3) The big one. SEE WHO'S PRICE WILL SKYROCKET. If Dangerfield has another +100 game next week his price will be sure to go up, he will most likely cement his position in the side (if he hasn't already).

SC is a numbers game, buy low, sell high but don't make stupid (or early) trades as they can come back to bite you on the ass.

Re: Round 2 trades

to the poster about 3 back yes there are no games in the weeks were there are 3 teams having the bye.

Thanks for that, sounds like some solid advice. I'll give it a go.

Re: Round 2 trades

lecras trade.

ok so ive narrowed it down to j.riewolt, dangerfield, zaharakis or hurley.

the last three will free up some salary cap for another premium mid trade after a few rounds. i dont reallt want to trade early but this one is forced.

which would you go for?

4. Hurley

Re: Round 2 trades

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, and if i am I'm stuffed, but there's no Supercoach rounds 4,5,6,16 & 19 (all the rounds where 3 teams have the bye). So it adds value for those players who have byes in those rounds...means they dont have byes in rounds that count.

i think you will find a lot of people on here like to push for a high finish in the overall stakes where points from those weeks still count

Re: Round 2 trades

no trades this week and hopefully none next week but l have to look at trading out lecrae.to either jack volt as the poster above me did or down grade lecrae to the Melbourne rookie trappscott. And upgrading the horse in waite who l should have never got silly move,or just the sideway in lecrae to jack.so prices still go up after 3 weeks yeah?

Re: Round 2 trades

Yarran will come good, it's not like he's never been manned up on before.

It's not like he's ever been a massive scorer either. He can't shake a sh@t-truck like Matt White because he is soft and lazy. Will probably get a big score against the kids this week but don't like his chances against even half decent opposition.

Re: Round 2 trades

Going to bring in Curnow this week to make sure I cash in on his rise!

ffs mate wait a week to see how he backs up. Still will cash in on the rise if he does well, and if he gets injured/scores shite, then you are covered.

Just save that trade for now

unless u have similar ideas with more than 2 players (say 3) get 1 this week the other 2 next week or miss the boat on 1 of them :D
still....... don't do it

Re: Round 2 trades

If you have ideas to do that to 3 players, ur stuffed from day 1 IMO :D

Re: Round 2 trades

Given that most teams will be burning two trades next week, I'd be tempted to grab one of the rookies who fired over the weekend (whoever you don't have out of McKernan/Tapscott/Curnow/Libba) this week, just to leave your options open.

I'd also advise any Selwood owners to trade him now, then get him back after round 6/7.

Yarran had a healthy average over the pre-season and the first game of the season he copped a tag, if anything it shows that he is a good player for Richmond to tag him to try and minimise his imput of the game is a credit to Yarran and his form. So I wouldn't go saying that he can't handle a tag because it was his first ever game where he was made to really earn the ball and he will learn from it and be better for the run.

Re: Round 2 trades

Here's another possibility, since I have Hurley in my backline and he's Back/Fwd. Idea's for next week, after Adelaides bye this week, since I already have Knights.

Yarran>McKernan (Back/Fwd)
R Shaw>Anyone

Actually I could do it this week too, since I could just swap McKernan to my back line for Hurley and sit McKernan on the bench for Lower.

Re: Round 2 trades

Still can't believe anyone had J Brown, the blokes 30 and pretty much never gets through a season uninjured. Great player, bad for supercoach.

Brilliant with hindsight. Never mind the fact that last year was Brown's first injury cruelled year since 2006 and that's he's probably in the top three to five SC forwards when he's fit. If he didn't have his face smashed in with McPharlin's knee he would've scored at least 100 (he scored 60-odd scaled down because he wasn't on the field when the game was in the balance, and you could bet on at least two more goals including the one from the mark he had just taken) and everyone would be hopping on board.
